Replaced both carbs with edelbrock Marine 750's. which do not have vacuum access for the PCV valve hose. There are access ports on both the front and rear of the carbs. but hate to drill and tap them out for a fitting. can I just go to the manifold? If I do have to tap out the carbs, connecting the ...

Well everyone convinced me that removing the close loop system is not the right thing to do. This past past weekend I removed both pumps replaced the impellers, backflushed the raw water system, checked both the oil and transmission coolers for blockage, took the risers apart and no blockage there e...

I tinkered around with the fresh water system this past weekend and I am convinced that I want to remove the close loop system. Thinkin of only doing this on one engine at a time to see if it makes a difference. Just a much simpler system to deal with. But what I need are photographs of an original ...

I have 160 degree thermostats on both engines. the temps were reaching the 200 degree mark when I back down to idle and the temps dropped. looks like I have good water coming out of the exhaust.

Penetrating epoxy use??

Well I have the dreaded soft spots on the top of my bow deck. seems to be concentrated around the hatch. the hatch area is molded and the only holes would be from the six screws. My guess is that the water may be coming in from around the windshields. I bought some of the west marine penetrating epo...

Thanks for the input! Mine is a raw water system, so I guess if both engines are maintaining tthe same temp there shouldn't be an issue, I'll keep an eye on the guages. Maybe change the t-stats end of season.
