u have to turn the ppower on to the gauge and the gauge itself needs its ground with nothing going to the sender it should read empty...with the power on to it when the sender is grounded it should pin full

if u do get an aftermarket sending unit i would take the extra time to hitch up the wires before u install it in the tank and test the system ...then remove the wire a install in the tank. i say this for 2 reasons one, is that for some reason i have put them in and it was wired backwards from the fa...

unfortunately where #1 is on the cap isnt that easy of a question to answer but to find out where #1 on ur distributor is...like after u took ll the sparkplug wires off at the same time and didnt mark anything....what u have to do is take the sparkplug out of #1 cylinder and find top dead center on ...

they have propane water heaters at west marine? i have all the stuff to convert my boat to propane but i wasnt going to use the hotwater heater...i would like to see what the difference is if any...

I/O versus inboard

so what is everyone opinion....i say that an i/o is more versital but an inboard has a better planning speed..weight distribution is better on an inboard....there r different opinions...some say that the new POD set ups r like the inboards...but id have to wait another 30 years or so to find out...l...

one thing u didnt mention is ur coil ballast system...u do have the ballast right? i cant remember but i think i had sort of the same problem once and it ended up being the ballast....

i wish i could say for sure...it sounds like u know what ur doing....the 2 things i dont like is 1 the carb and 2 the low compression....u said the motor could have alot of hours..as u know it could have a stretched chain...worn cam... ...etc..if ur firing order wasnt the quick fix and it runs at a ...

the nut thing makes sense
