Re: 1976 Chysler 318 rear engine freeze plug replacement

Done this job this about 5 years ago.
You will have to remove the bell housing and velvet drive, as well as the flywheel to access the the two freeze plugs.

Re: F25 Bilge and Limber holes

So I've read the threads I could find on the bilge in an F25, lot of good info on bilge pumps and such. I've got my floor open and have scraped out several pounds (!) of caked on oil and grease from under the cabin sole - 40+ years worth, pretty sure I'm the first owner to open the floor except for...

Re: F25 Coast Guard number plate

On my 1973 F-25, the capacity plate is behind the vertical helm cover under the steering wheel, where the fuse panel is.

The Hull Identification Number is moulded into the gelcoat on the Starboard Transom above the exhaust port at the height of the swim platform if you have one.

Re: Swap out a 318 in a 1975 F32

Mornin'...if you are asking for a good 'local' marine engine source, I would recommend Crosstown Motors in Toronto. They build excellent marine and domestic automotive engines. Pricing is about $3900 for a complete long block...additional core charge, refunded when they receive your old engine. Of c...

Re: 6000 miles in a 35 year old Trojan – Is it possible?

Excellent post, fantastic adventure...thanks for posting! We have been to the 30,000 islands of the Georgian Bay many times over the last 15 yrs, it never ever gets old, and photos can only give an a small sense of what it is like boating in the Canadian North. Each of our trips up there are only fo...

Re: Swim Platform Support Arms

Did the same thing as David for the aft supports. (They are actually the old Trojan railings cut down - waste not want not!) Had Aluminum triangular supports made by a local welder for the transom supports. Been going strong for 11 years now...no problems. DSC_00040004.JPG DSC_00270011.JPG IMG_5347....

Re: 1977 Trojan 318 engine performance

While that is factory size most will do better with a little less pitch . Our boats start getting a little fatter from day one. 100% Correct... As mine 'fattened up' over my first ten years of ownership, which gradually dropped my performance to 2800 rpm (3000 on a good day)...I went with this sugg...

Re: Trailers for Large Boats

Does anyone on the forum trailer their boat, either in the marina yard or on the open road? What are you trailering and what trailers are you using? Is anyone using a "yard" trailer that isn't street legal to move their boat around the marina yard? Any recommendations for or against speci...

Then after the new glass install, have one of these made and never replace the windows again.

The material that I used is from "QL Marine Accessories" which is a division of Volvo Penta. These sound absorbent panels are available in several different thicknesses.

Hope this helps

Re: Engine sound deadening....

I used Dynamat under the cockpit floor and it lowered the sound levels considerably. Before the Dynamat installation I could not hear my exhaust, only the engine noise coming through the cockpit floor. After installing the Dynamat about 80% of the sound I hear is from the engine exhaust and 20% of ...
