What engine again - that 14x10 is pretty small - and the boat is only doing about 18knots in that photo ... I agree with earlier observations that your engine/carbs need tuning ... make sure you get a kit with Viton seals (I feel/sound like a Viton salesman). YES bottom is clean and the engine is a...

If the boat will get on plane with a over size prop I would not think the engine is weak . can you reconfirm your gear ratio ? and post a photo of your gear . ( something you said you were going to do ) I believe your drive train is not the same as what it came with , so what other boats like your ...

I am hoping this translates... I have experience with a single engine 28' Trojan and a twin engine 32' Trojan (and a twin engine 26' Four Winns pocket rocket)... When propped right, you should be able to hit the 'max rpm' for your engine at WOT. If you can't hit max rpm, you are either over propped...

Another Trip

I took another trip in the river this weekend. I left Friday night, stayed until today. It was great time. I had to replace the starter on the hook. But it was two bolts not a hard job. I did take that 14x10 prop and try it. It was a for sure no go. I just do not know what to do. I tried the 14x12 a...

F26 Oil

I was wondering do I have to add more oil or the regular amount of oil that a car Ford 351 takes? I want to change the oil in my boat before I take her out this weekend. Also this may sound dumb, but Ill ask anyway, What is the deference between regular Ford 351 and a marina Ford 351. They say dumb ...

Be careful - my Qjet rebuild kit from NAPA last year was NOT Viton. I had to special order (http://www.cliffshighperformance.com) the Viton seals and Accel pump. NAPA has a lot of old stock, and I'm sure the others do as well. I would not count on the counter guy at the Auto (not Marine) parts stor...

do you think if I use low vol sand blasting on the bottom it will hurt it? I want too repaint mine as well. I would start with a 3000-4000 psi pressure washer with a 0 degree oscillating tip first , , if more cut is needed u can get a attachment for sand or even better glass beads, always do a smal...

Re: vin

Sorry did not see any other numbers other than the registraion number but I am not done taking it appart yet so there may be more numbers. That can be the real number as I am not sure of year or make only that its a 30' so f30 1974 may be correct. as for a sports cruiser I will need look at some pi...
