Thanks for the comment, I'll suggest that to our broker. I'm guessing he took it straight from the placards affixed to several places in the boat.

Journey - 10.8 International is for sale!

 I spent 6 months shopping and bought Journey in March with the intention of keeping her forever. I immediately put about $15k into her to get everything "just perfect for summer." Then in July, I get offered a "can't refuse" job in California. So, sadly, she's up for sale i...

Following up on this. Per prowlerfish's advice, I ordered 2 gallons of rydlyme and flused the thru-hulls and the oil / trans coolers for an hour apiece. Just used a bucket, some hoses and a pump. Lots of foam and gook came out, but no big chunks - so I was skeptical. We splahed it the water flow loo...

Flooring in Seattle

The carpet in my 10.8 is wasted. We'd like to get either laminate or really good wood look vinyl flooring in the lower area. I'm looking at karndean and konecto specifically. The top can be carpet, but we'd prefer to do the same. I have no spare time and would like to pay someone to do the installat...

Question: Can I temporarily bypass the oil & trans cooler to make sure that isn't creating a blockage? I'm pretty sure I can run that way at the dock, just to check for flow from the exhaust, but can I go take a few speed runs with it out of the loop?

Thanks!

Thanks prowlerfish, good stuff. I'm planning to haul out next week to do props and will check thru hulls and valves then. I was planning on just removing the hose at the seacock and inspecting the inside and the strainer from the outside. I should be able to see light through it, right? Any other ti...

Sorry, I know that photo isn't exactly on the pump, but it's the best one I've got and I think works for estimating pulley size.

Thanks, but after trying new impellers and cams, I put in brand new sherwood e35 pumps, so that isn't the issue. In the last 2 weeks, the boat has gotten new manifolds, risers and elbows and the heat exchangers have been boiled, refurbished and pressure tested. Basically, there is nothing left to ch...

Crusader 454 raw water pump pulley size?

Can anyone look at this photo and tell me if they have a different pulley size for the raw water pump or crank? I have a theory that they are wrong diameter and not spinning the pump quickly enough. Engines are fine at cruise but get hot over 3000 RPM. http://i41.tinypic.com/35n108i.jpg Thanks, Chris

Thanks all - it's funny, you use the exact same term ("bubble boats") that my wife does when we were looking at recent meridians, carvers, etc. I like the classic styling of this Trojan. We were taken aback by the value offered by this boat. Even with the continued cost of upkeep and event...

New owner - 10.8 International!

Well, the deal is done. We got (I think) a great deal on a 10.8 in Everet, WA and the family and I are excited for the season to start! We kept our old boat up in Anacortes, but we're going to try the lake for a summer and see how that works for us. Next is getting some repairs done before we move h...

Re: 10.8 International - cruise speed & economy

The hull shape of the 2 boats are night and day you may as well compair with a sea ray or a bay linner The fuel is the cheapest part of owning a boat Thanks everyone for the warnings & comments on boat ownership economics, but I'm very aware of what we're getting into. Heck, the boat we're look...

Thanks for the info RWS, I've found that info before and have been pouring over your info recently. :) I've tried search, but haven't found much other speed / economy on the international series (besides yours) yet, and none on the 10.8. Maybe I'm not searching effectively. Lots of good info on the ...
