Greetings from a former F32 owner

Hi All I thought I's stop in and say hello and read some of the forum posts - I hope all everyone is doing well. Update, we sold the Silverton last year and bought a Sea Ray 420 DA, I never thought I'd be an express boat owner, but we were presented with a deal that was a bit hard to pass and we had...

Re: Drive advice needed - Starboard Velvet Drive failed

Do you have a manual for your transmissions? If not goggle it. Before you start removing the transmission, Check the trouble shooting guide for this issue Contact the factory and talk to them about the problem Have you verified the shift cable and cam on the transmission is actually engaging the tra...

not sure from your photo if this device is on the raw water intake line or the exhaust, but it kind of looks like a wet muffler with an over temp or water flow sensor

Re: Trojan f32 comversion to 4bt single

I repowered an F-32 with Mercruiser 165 inline 6 cylinder gasoline engines, I also changed to Twin Disc 502 transmissions, to get the down angle and a reversing transmission, as both engines turn in the standard rotation. I think there is only one ratio in a 71 or 72C velvet drive that will let you ...

Re: Crusader 454 needs priming to get it started

I have 1984 454 350's and had the same cranking problem described throughout this thread, I bought a matched pair of remanufactured Quadrajet carburetors and it instantly fixed the problem, the boat starts almost instantly and both engines run smoothly with little exhaust smell. I still have the the...

Re: Another newbie question tools and parts

A multi-meter is an electrical tester , I have a Fluke brand, it will test AC & DC volts , amps, under 10 amps, continuity, Ohms etc. fluke.jpg As far as a temp gun, you really don't need a PM for using it, but say your stb & port gauges don't read the same, you could check to make sure your...

Re: Another newbie question tools and parts

Jbaggs, welcome ! To answer your question, how do you plan to use your boat? long range multi-night trips or hanging out at the dock and a few trips to another marina for lunch and a cocktail? Don't overpack, and think about the tools you REALLY need vs. the tools that are cool but seldom touched, y...

Re: Two questions-Pictures of Helm, Electronic engine monitoring

I just completed the replacement of the helm instrument panel on our boat, time and previous owners had taken its toll on the original panel, switches and gauges were mismatched and erratic , the ignition switches were old tired and the panel itself was faded and corroded. I replaced the panel with ...

Re: Project "Tri Fly"

Hi Snowman and welcome The diesel dilemma- I had a 34' CHB with a single 120 lehman , 1.75 gal an hour at 7 knots, great engine but even the newest version is now old. I am not familiar with the engine installation arrangement in a Tri- but the Lehmans are tall and heavy, so if you don't have v driv...
