1972 Trojan F-31 OUTTA CONTROL

Hi all, Ran OUTTA CONTROL for 6 seasons, but she has been on the hard for the last 2, so she will be going on the market soon. I have spoken to Bob and the listing will be going in the FOR SALE forum shortly. As I bought her from a fellow board member, I want to see if I can get her a good home with...

Re: Looking for new boat

Thanks - with the diesels, it's not so much the hours as just the overall quietness...are you selling your boat? :)

Trying to decide what to do with a 1971 F31

Have had her for 6 seasons; have probably put less than 300 hours on her since buying in 2010. She was sold to me as having less than 60 hours on rebuilt engines then. We have kept her up mechanically, with work completed by the yard on the port engine intake and exhaust manifolds, trim tabs, and st...

Looking for new boat

Current owner of F31 OUTTA CONTROL - really love the layout, with a lower helm, open cockpit, and flybridge. Wife agrees we should get something bigger, but with diesels and radar; she loves to entertain on the boat and wants the new boat to have a lower helm. Have seen F36's with lower helm, but ga...

Trojan 44 motor yacht information

Am considering moving up from my F31 to a 1974 44 motor yacht.

1. Does anyone have line drawings for a 1974 model's various configurations?
2. Does anyone have comments for or against this model?
- are there known problems to look for or expect?

Thanks!

what finally worked on OUTTA CONTROL

I bought Bill's boat; he bombed it before we got it but there were still some of the nasties around. Ended up buying some dry bombs from Home Depot, opened all the cupboards, lockers, hatches, etc., then fired off one in the cabin and one in the canvas-enclosed pilothouse/cockpit. No problems since...

UPDATE

Boat went back in last Friday; took her out Wednesday night. In re steering, no cable problems, so the installation of the new standoff resolved the lower station steering issue. While she was out, also added redundant bilge pumps in the engine room and lazarette, and replaced the lower shifts and f...

update on rudder issue

Won't post pictures but the boat is on the hard having transom repairs done. Turns out that there is sort of a compounding error going on; I pass along the details for your amusement. On my boat, there is an upper and lower station. The upper station's steering cable comes down the port flybridge st...

Does anyone have pix of an F-31 (early 70's) with a full (soft top) enclosure? Interested in seeing how people have fitted one with the folding ladder - checked through online sale listings but could not find any pics...

Many thanks!

Bill - thanks for the response. Noted the repairs, don't know what changed, had a full three turns of lower helm on Saturday when I put a tape center mark on the lower helm; Sunday afternoon, only had two turns. Don't know if part of the cable housing slid down preventing full movement, just want to...
