Re: twin power cords tripping gfi

I've talked to other boaters in the marina and was asked how old my boat was (1989) and that they had issues before with a single grounded system with twin power cords. I read the responses and I'm thinking that when I turn on the 2nd cord it's ground and the 1st cords connect and cause the GFI's to...

Re: twin power cords tripping gfi

I hope i attached the file correctly of the A/C wiring diagram. with the shore selector to line 1 and line 2 main breaker off, it would seem that line 2 white and black or not in the loop, only that green is going to bonding bar. I'm not very good at electrical but could it be a difference in in the...

twin power cords tripping gfi

i have a 12 meter aft cabin with twin power cords. At my marina they have 30 amp GFI receptacles and when i run one line only all is OK. When I plug in line two (even if selector sw in boat is off) both GFI's on the dock trip. I've tried switching the power cords around but still the same thing. The...

Re: Lunaire Salon AC and blower issues

Yes, marine A/C guy. I think it's the age and the fact that they seem to be very busy. Just to get them to come look at it was a struggle. Not many guys around here (Buffalo NY) work on marine A/C.

Re: Lunaire Salon AC and blower issues

I too am having issues with the saloon air in my 12 meter aft cabin. Similar symptoms, it tries to run for 1-2 min and then the breaker kicks off. I had an A/C guy check it out and he put a booster condenser to try and get the compressor to kick, but no good. He said the compressor is shot. Problem ...

need help - a/c in 12 meter aft cabin

I have a 1989 12 meter aft cabin and the a/c in the salon isn't blowing cold. It was ok last year. there are 2 other units (aft and fwd) that blow cold. Water is running, so that isn't it. The salon unit has 2 seprate components, in the ceiling of the salon is the blower (it's mounted under the dash...

Re: 12 meter fuel tank size

thanks, good to know. By the way one of the fuel valves was bumped during winterization into a 1/2 way position and I believe that one of the side tanks drained into the center tank, as went we went to start it in the spring it was getting air in the line and the gauge showed it was empty (it had ov...

12 meter fuel tank size

Does anyone know the individual fuel tank sizes of a 12 meter aft cabin? I know the total is 400 gal but there are 3 tanks, port, stb and center. I'd like to know the capacity of the individual tanks.

Re: New member intro... Any 12 Meter Motor Yacht owners here?

I never had to do anything to prime the vacu flush. Not sure what he is referring to. I believe the only thing under the floor in the area you're talking about is the pump for the fwd air conditioning, but again I never had to prime it. For the entertainment center there is a button to the right sid...

Re: Diesels The perfect engines or not ?

bought a 1989 12 meter motor yacht this year with twin 6 71 Detroit's and love it. First time with diesels. There is very little if any fumes in engine compartment and I get as good mileage as I did in my 10 meter mid cabin with gassers. And the 12 meter is about twice as heavy. In addition to all t...

Re: Tinting windows

I have a 12 meter motor yacht that we just got this year and there are black covers for the front windshields. They do greatly reduce the heat but I was thinking a white mesh-like material Ive seen would be better for heat and not darken the cabin as much. Does anyone know what the material is or ca...

datamarine dart depth manual

i recently bought a new to me 12 meter Trojan 1989 aft cabin and have been trying to learn all the electronics. I've got manuals or been able to google them all except for a datamarine dart unit. The one on the bridge reads mostly 8's and one in the salon appears to be off. There are buttons for dep...
