If you love your Trojan

Hello all, After removing the fuel, water and waste deck fittings I am posting this. My 1980 F36 had inadequate sealing around each of these fittings. The coring was not properly finished and I have some rot around those fittings. We're going back with epoxy over structural foam so we will never hav...

Had the same issue with our 36. We drilled several holes and allowed to dry, then we filled it with expandable marine two part floatation foam and then repaired holes. Entire bilge areas are being coated several times with gelcoat and obvious questionable areas were repaired prior to gelcoating. If ...

F36 hull speed and height from waterline?

Hello fellow F36 owners, As you may know we're doing a refit on our basket case 1980 F36. I was curious if you could tell me the hull speed, rpm and fuel burn at hull speed? I would also like to know the height from the true waterline to the top of your bimini or hardtop. Best guess will do. Please ...

Get out your crayons!

Hello fellow F36 owners, My boat was a bit of a basket case upon arrival. I was curious if one of you might be so kind to sketch the layout of the panels above the engine room area from the top view? I know we have all the panels just not sure how to assembly the puzzle. I confess I am confused... S...

I would think the investment in a flash tach would be a good idea.
You apply a small piece of reflective tape to the rotating mass and aim the light at the mass and the device will provide you with an accurate shaft speed.
Commonly used in marine business.
Not expensive

I looked long and hard and decided on MarinePower V-8 6.0 with 2.52 to 1 gear ratio. Will be able to use original props and struts. New shafts and coupling due to wear in packing gland area. I am installing dripless shaft seal and original surface is shot. Fuel injected, remote oil filters, block hea...

Fuel tank exterior paint

Picking up the new alum fuel tanks tomorrow.
Would like to paint the exterior of them.
Any suggestions or ideas to make it easy or a particular product you had a positive or negative experience with?
Thanks

Thanks for everyone's input. Sounds like you need one of each style to be covered completely. We're going to travel and hope to encounter all types of bottoms (LoL) I hope between the claw and danforth we will be happy on the hook. We tend to drop two anchors even our 22' MasterCraft at the lake, so...

I found this and could not resist the deal.
This will be my primary anchor and will also have a 12 danforth on deck as a secondary.
Thanks

Anchor size and type for F36

Hello all,
I have purchased my windless, pulpit and anchor chute.
Can someone with practical experience provide me with a recommendation on anchor weight and style that works.
We intend to do quite a bit of on the hook time so holding power will be very important.
Thank you,

They did send me the dyno reports....stronger than advertised!
I think they would paint any color.
Chevy based, from long blocks to supercharged they do it all and have parts support via Donavan, which is a huge marine retailer catalog serving boat dealers and yards.
