Re: New Member Saying Hello!

Well, that was a typo, but since it is true, I'll just leave it and say that there are lots of good folks here too.....

Re: New Member Saying Hello!

Welcome. My standard advice to the new used-boat owner: treat yourself to a copy of of Nigel Calder's Boatowner's Mechanical and Electrical Handbook.

Lot's of goof folks here. Between the search feature and the active users, the answer to your Trojan boat question lies here.

I don't agree your going to spend a grand a month .
Not all months are created equal, of course. One month I spent 22 grand.

I'll bet none of us brag to our wives about how cheap or trouble-free it is to own a boat.

Re: 83 36 foot tri cabin questions.

Well its unfortunate that you feel that way. Hopefully youll decide to stick around. If you do so, time and time again youll see folks think that something great happened to them because they got a whale of a deal on a boat. Most people have no idea what they are getting into (recall i gave you some...

Re: 83 36 foot tri cabin questions.

I know im about to dive in over my head and im probably too dumb to realize how deep. Well, this sums up 99% of boat purchasers. You are a step ahead though, because you realize it! Dunno what the deal is with the transom, but it is not cored -- on those boats, nothing below the rub rail is. As for...

Re: F32 V-berth door removal

Also noticed his site sells the original plugs for the screw holes so might get a bag of those to refill the spots that are now exposed. You might consider a thin strip of wood over the whole face where they screw holes are. The plugs will be more obvious than a new "face," even if your OCD is as b...

Re: F26 Trojan HT 1978 Vs F26 HT 1980

Thanks for your feedback! Turns out the 1980 had been sold awhile ago and the listing was no longer valid even though it appeared that way. So today I agreed to purchase the 1978 F26 Hardtop!! I am so excited to be joining the Trojan boat owner fraternity! She's only had 4 owners since her launch a...

Re: fuel pick up tube

If Psfish has direct experience on your model of boat, ill defer, but as an engineer, id never install a filter in an inaccessible location. There are no filters on the pickup tubes in my '85 tricabin. As part of the joys of parenting and family boating, my son helped me winterize two years ago. Sho...

Re: Safety Railing/lines

I have an '85. "Railing" was tubing on the top for front and back third, with that white cable everywhere else. I put hard pipe on the top from stem to stern, and replaced the vintage cable with fresh. Ill update more when im not 5 hrs from my wake-up time, and when i have a proper keyboard. Hint: t...
