Re: Lateral Stringers

Hard to beat being in the water for providing distributed support. Extra blocking on the ground could suffice. Consider: on the hard, every trip inside the boat means up n down a ladder, vs walking down a dock. But if you're already hauled, you're not missing any boat-use time if you start now. Agre...

Riser condition inspection

So everyone "knows" to periodically replace risers because you cannot predict their (expensive) failure. 5 years is an oft-quoted number. Here is my story. BLUF: Crusader 270s with 7-year old Barr risers. 5 years in substantially fresh water, then 2 years in salty water. In the water all y...

Re: 89 mid cabin inverter connection

is there really only 1 AC circuit on the boat? My inverter feeds all the outlets on the port side only, to include my fridge and coffee pot, which are the only appliances on that circuit. An advantage being that once the alternator has completed the task of replacing the starting charge, my otherwis...

1985 Tricabin wallpaper source?

BLUF: Looking for wallpaper to match the original on my 1985 tricabin. Not /s, just hopeful. Beacon no longer has any in stock. It is cream colored, with the texture approximating window screen. Did you buy a roll when it was available that you can sell? Did you find a replacement source that you ca...

I have 44 foot Trojan Clevis pin broke n down the anchor went. Now I need another one. What size do I need and best place to get. Thanks If you haven't got a new anchor yet, be sure to pay attention to the type of bottom to which you'll be doing most of your boating, and get an anchor to suit. My F...

Re: Bow Davit capacity ?

No direct experience with this unit, but I can't believe that 400 lb would be an issue. That is not very much as far as lifting goes, and what would be the point of having a crane that only lifts as much as you can? From the pics, it looks like hook height over the rail may be an issue.

Re: Marina Contract

No issues from my marina owners, who are aware of my situation. The point is, I have a home that I can go to, and that I receive mail ...

I recommend u run right out and treat yourself to the current edition of Nigel Calders Boatowners Mechanical and Electrical Manual.

Second best resource is the search feature of this forum. Enjoy ur new boat!

You can buy the manual for your boat from Beacon. Highly recommended.

Re: Post Clever Boat Names

My wife likes to tool around in the 10' Apex rigid inflatable boat (RIB) that is mounted on the back of our tricab, says it adds a lot to the boating experience. Yet curiously, she nixed the name "Ribbed For Her Pleasure."
