Hi all. I received a boat, motor and trailer from a guy as payment for an engine job. Pretty sweet. The boat is an '88 Larson 15' open bow with an '87 Merc 70. '71 F-26? On my 81, the shore power panel is located in the locker, port side in the cockpit. The main breaker and branch circuit breakers are there as well as a voltmeter indicating incoming power. Hope it helps.

Just a suggestion. Lubricate the impeller with dish soap. When you start the engine with the boat in the water and see the soap suds out of the exhaust, you'll know you've got it right !!

If it is a carburated engine, the first thing I would check for is a choke plate that isn't open completely. With the engine fully warmed up and running, remove the spark arrestor and check that the choke plate is fully open, or in the vertical position. If it isn't, adjust the actuator to achieve t...

The exhaust riser leaks are more active with higher rpms, such as moving. That's why the mechanics missed the leak at dockside, then I'd come in w/ lots of bilge water after cruising.
