Re: Refinished head. Pics

I think you have done a terrific job, I am inspired. I have that Trojan vinyl wall covering on the walls of my1978 F 30. I once tried removing it, it does not come off. Has anyone painted over it? If yes, what prep was done and what paint wsa used? The current vinyl is so dingy looking after seeing ...

Bluetooth Stereo

I am looking to purchase a new car/marine stereo receiver for the F30. It will be in the Salon, and have a pair of speakers in the salon, a pair on the back deck and a pair on the bridge. I can turn any pair on or off from the salon. I need help on a couple of things, first of all do I want a marine...

Door lockset

Happy Back to Work after the Holiday. I am looking for parts or a complete lockset for the cabin door of my 1978 F30. I was dumb enough to drop some parts overboard when removing the door from the boat to take to shore to sand. It is an aluminum lockset, door handle and key lock. I cannot find any m...

Greg Group is a very well known surveyor in this area, you are probably looking in the Port Clinton area. Greg surveyed my boat ten years ago, I was very happy. You can google "Greg Group" for contact information. Good luck, you will be pleased with his work.

I may be wrong, but I really believe that by pulling out the stove a long armed friend was able to get to the hose to help me replace it. That was an easier option than removing the refrigerator. Only a couple of screws held in the stove top. Take a look and see what you think.

Can you be more specific on the "white dimpled plastic sheets" at Home Depot. What size are these, what department? I am familiar with the white melmaline sheets, are these similar? Thanks again for all the information.
With a little luck and planning this should be a fun project.

upgrade Head

All your fantastic boats have inspired me. The Head in our 1978 F30 needs up grading or remodeling, because my wife says so. My biggest question is how easy is it to get that original tan heavy duty wall covering off, and what is a good replacement. I would like to know what others have done to upgr...

At Catawba Island on Lake Erie we pay $1850 for a 30' dock from April through October. Then about $1100 for inside cold winter storage. Marina does haul out, bottom cleaning and puts us back in come springtime. We do our own winterizing.

I have an F 30, does my avatar look like your boat, I don't think there are any windows that are 23 X 85, certainly not the cabin windows, nor do I think the windows on the lower helm. Boat is put away for winter, but if i can measure anything for you in the spring I would be glad to.

replacing throttle cables

I would appreciate any input on the degree of difficulty to replace the throttle cables on my 1978 F30. I believe that the flybridge cables are connected to the lower station also. Is this a one weekend job, several days etc. They are probably teleflex cables, just use the same as replacements? Can ...

I am the owner of a 1978 F30, we boat out of Catawba Island on the Western basis of Lake Erie. We have had the boat several years, it has been great thus far. I am looking forward all the knowledge and information that this group has to offer. I will put up an avatar and a photo of the boat as soon ...
