Does it catch the condensation in a container. Than dump over the side??
It has an internal tank that catches the condensation. When the tank fills there is a drain in the back to empty the tank.

Re: Winter project list

Is the "portable" a/c one you set on the deck and run the exhaust hose out a window or is it something more permanent like a window unit or ??? Interested since I would like to AC the helm area on our boat. Thinking an RV unit on the roof. 10 meter express with arch removed etc. The portable AC uni...

Re: Winter project list

The first three years I had my boat my list was as long (or longer) than yours. Now it's mostly normal maintenance, although the front cabin window cracking kind of took me by surprise. The wife wants air conditioning, so installing a small, portable air conditioner should buy me a few more years be...

Re: 1971 F26 Front Window

The canvas cover I installed kept things dry but the cracks in the 47 year old plexiglass keep getting bigger. They just don't make things to last! Now that the boat is under shrink wrap I'm going to have to start the window replacement project. The first step is to remove all of the old s...

Re: 1971 F26 paragon vdrive intermittent issues

I never had an explosion with mine. I did have slipping which was caused by low fluid levels in the transmission. When I bought the boat, the seal between the transmission and V drive was leaking allowing fluid from the transmission to migrate to the V drive. The transmission fluid level would go do...

Re: 1976 chrysler 318 impeller

My 1971 raw water cooled Chrysler 318 has a dual pocket Sherwood pump that is driven by the engine belt. The replacement part number for the impellers is 09959K-SHW ( www.boatersland.com/she09959k.html ). Since it is a dual pocket pump, I need to order two 09959K-SHW kits.

Re: slight vibration

Did you hit anything? I had a slight vibration that was caused by a slight bend in my propeller. After I had the propeller reconditioned the vibration went away.

Re: 1971 F26 Front Window

I got a quote for $400 to fabricate a Sunbrella window cover for my F26, so I'm going to have that done. I need to install snaps in the fiberglass. I'm going to overdrill and then fill the holes with epoxy to prevent any water intrusion. It shouldn't be too hard.

Re: 1971 F26 Front Window

Lexan EXELL D is UV protected and backed by a 10 year warranty. Regular Lexan wouldn't work for this application, but the Lexan EXELL D is designed to be used in skylight applications so it should be fine for this. Race cars use 1/8 inch Lexan for their windshields, so it should be ok. My boat is on...

Re: 1971 F26 Front Window

Hi Paul, Thanks for the information. Using 1/8 inch material will be less expensive and also make getting the material into the frame much easier. Did you use GE SCS2000 SilPruf sealant? Looking at the various options on the GE UltraGlaze SSG website the SCS2000 appears to be the most appropriate. D...

1971 F26 Front Window

I need to replace the front cabin window on my 1971 F26. Does anybody know how thick the plexiglass is? I think it is 1/4 inch thick, but would like to buy the replacement before I take it out of the boat. Also, I'm planning on replacing the plexiglass with Lexan. Any comments regarding the change o...

Re: Catrostrophic hull failure

I was at a marina today looking at a boat. Every boat at the marina was blocked like this (one under the bow and one at each aft corner). There was no support of the keel midway or aft. I don't know if any of those boats ever suffered catastrophic hull failure, but I certainly wouldn't buy a boat th...
