Re: Fixing up my 440s

Heh Paul that is more than 600nm, I agree wrong boat for a trip across the gulf which can be very, very bad, oil rigs, freighters, reefs ,short wave frequency and a pretty strong current. You need to be very experienced for that sort of thing. Not sure where you would put 7000lbs worth of fuel eithe...

Re: F32 Stringers Replacement

mikeandanne can you tell us what soundproofing product you used? thx rr It has been a long time but as I remember it was about an inch thick foam with a heavy solid rubber layer inside, there is 1.5" as well, it had a mylar foil covering and a rating of about 25db sound drop. The stuff is quit...

Re: F32 Stringers Replacement

I can see you have spent a great deal of thought ,time and hard work. Can't wait to see what you come up with for the finishing touches. Nice job. May I suggest something as I did the same thing, the styrofoam under the deck hatches is a hazard but can be covered with some nice heavy sound insulatio...

Re: Starboard Engine burning more fuel and can't get over 2800 RPM

One more thing, check to make sure the distributor is advancing the timing from idle properly. Have you had this boat for a while, is this just a new occurrence ?

Also check your PCV valve is working correctly.

Re: engines balking at 3000 RPM

Couple things I get from your post. Sounds like the engines are starving for fuel (lean not rich ), that could be the reason for the grey smoke. If it was rich the smoke would be black colored. Lean can also be a reason for higher rpm backfire along with possible engine mechanical reasons. The pops ...

Re: Marina Contract

In this context, could "liveaboard", be defined as a permanent situation, 12 months, or just staying on your boat for a month or two here or there. Need to find out the legal definition. I have an idea they don't want derelict junk boats being lived on causing who knows what problems. If y...

Re: distributor replacement M360

Ok I ran 12v from the ignition switch relay to the + on coil. I found TDC on the compression stroke for #1 cylinder. Installed the distributor. Hooked up the #1 wire to post of dist. cap where rotor is pointing and installed the wires in the correct clockwise firing order. She fires but only get a ...

Re: distributor replacement M360

Here is another thing to check. It has been a very long time but just remembered the oil pressure switch. At the rear of the engine you should find a tap with the oil pressure sender and a pressure switch which as I remember acted in the ignition circuit, It acted to allow the start. Maybe someone h...

Re: distributor replacement M360

What about the voltage regulator box do I still need that plugged in? I can't get this thing to fire up. I have the #1 lined up with the rotor on the compression stroke and the correct firing order but can't get her to fire? If I unplug the factory module I get no spark. When I crank her I only get...

Any chance you have a generator fuel feed line tapped into that engines fuel line ?

Re: Engines Quit When Warm

I have two Chrysler 360's that have new Edelbrock carbs, all new ignition parts-yes all, new fuel tanks and lines, new fuel filters, new plugs and wires. I start them up and they run fine. I take the boat out for a 30 minute run and they run fine. I get into the harbor and at idle-700 rpm, they bot...

Re: power supply

cross tie switch? There was an option that allowed you to power up both sides of the panel when only one shore power cord was connected. The breaker /switch was one of those lower ones on your 120 panel. The switch had to be in the correct orientation when both cords were used. Just a thought as it ...

If you have the styrofoam stuck under your floor plates which I see all the time in pics, consider covering that with fireproof sound deadener with the foil covering. That stuff is very bad when overheated/fire.

Re: 75 F32 Ignition Switches

On WayWeGo, you can start the engines from either helm, no matter what position the switches are in at the other helm. We run from the flybridge 99% of the time, but I always start the engines from the lower helm with the hatch open when getting going. This allows me to hear what is going on and to...
