Re: Considering Another with Detroit Diesels
I know! I always think the angles. But we will see I have a marine DD guy ($$$$$) then a super old timer RV guy who can look at it. I would almost pay more to have the old timer. We shall see. Darn good advice. Thanks! Others feel free to add but From ur prev posts that's good enough a prod to keep...

Re: Considering Another with Detroit Diesels
The 671 at 315 HP or around there last a long time , 2000 hours is not a issue . If they were 450-485 HP that would be a different story . Defiantly get a Detroit guy to look at them . And to be there at start up . If he knows DD he will likely have the valve cover off before starting to make sure t...

Re: F32 sliding door lock
I can't think of any reason to remove the door . I agree photos would help " lock rod going into the frame is not sounding right to me . I sure I am misunderstanding .

Re: Drive advice needed - Starboard Velvet Drive failed
It would work . But I would think repairing or replacing your trans with the same ratio would be cheaper then buying 2 props . and easier then pulling 2 trans .

Re: Drive advice needed - Starboard Velvet Drive failed
I have to disagree with Bob , you would still have opposing props . But you would have to put the right hand on the left and the left on the right . Of course you would need smaller wheels . Small wheels don't always do the good on big boats I am assuming you would be swaping both , If just one then...

Re: 1987 F36 Tri-Cabin - prop sizing
Way too much prop . You will badly over load the engines . Too large to even get close even when reworked

Re: Catrostrophic hull failure
Without seeing how it was blocked I will reserve judgment . I have seen that before on other brands , and in most cases the hull was full of water . I also had seen cinderblocks used if one breaks the hull falls and the rest are driven into the hull .

Re: 10 meter windlass

Well the down is so fast I don't see the need for the free fall it faster down then my old good free fall . Now the Good is...
