Re: Update on my Tricabin fuel tanks

Hi rickalan35, good to see your post and that you will also be considering the change of your fuel senders. I am away a lot, but will keep an eye on the forum to see what is happening. Just came home from the marina, and while up at the boat, I cut a 12" square hatch in the floor directly over ...

Re: Update on my Tricabin fuel tanks

jimbo36, was talking to a fellow Trojan owner at the marina over the weekend, (73 Trojan Tri), and he told me that he ordered new tank senders thru the West Marine store in Midland, and had them within two weeks. More to it than that to place an order, but at least they are available for our old gir...

Re: Update on my Tricabin fuel tanks

jimbo36, my home port is the Holland River Marina, btm end of L.Simcoe. Very nice marina, covered slips, and everything well maintained. Also close to our home, can be up there in approx 45 min. Means a lot of driving time saved when we are not yet ready to sleep aboard. Hopefully will get to do thi...

Update on my Tricabin fuel tanks

Hi guys, this is an update to a posting of mine from back in Oct/2013 on a fuel gauge problem I have with my 74 Tri cabin. I had bought the boat a short while before and knew there was a problem with the gauges, and posted same on the forum. Got some good advice back then from g36 and prowlerfish. S...

Re: Fuel Tank Senders

rickalan35, we are keeping the boat on Lake Simcoe, south end, in a covered slip, to be close to home while working on it. All of our previous boating was up on Georgian Bay. When I get back to working on the problem come spring I will post how everything turns out. Take care.

Re: Fuel Tank Senders

Hi rickalan35, interesting to hear how you replaced your tanks. Never heard of this process so far but will also keep your feedback on file with everybody else's. I have so much to do on my old girl, so I hope my tanks hold on for a few more years. boatsnbars, thanks for the website in regards to re...

Re: Fuel Tank Senders

Many thanks g36, for the info on the fuel line, and a method to check out my fuel tanks. After reading your post, and checking the website you showed, I feel that I know how to check the fuel senders out now. I would like to do this check immediately on the tank senders, but unfortunately, it will h...

Fuel Tank Senders

Hi guys, as a lot of you know I just purchased my 74 Tri Cabin mid Sept this year, and knew that it had some instrument gauge problems, mainly fuel tanks and oil gauges. The boat is hauled out and winterized now, so I removed the whole dash board and brought it home to do a bench test check on the g...

Re: HOW I SOLVED MY SHORE WATER CHECK VALVE RIDDLE

Aaron, I like the way you set up your small compressor to fit into your water system. Never would have thought of doing it this way, but will set one up like yours for next year. What caught my eye on your posting was the mention of the shore side water ftg out on the gunnel. As you recall, I bought...

RWS, If when she is hauled out and it turns out to be a transducer, you get a gold star, after 5 gold stars, you are eligible for a free coffee. Cant afford to pass out anything else because I now have a hole in the water where all my money now falls into.........Oldtimer

Re: What is this !

Hi guys, just got back home today and decided to try and attach my picture of the mystery ftg. Seems pretty complicated to me to go thru Photo-bucket to post a picture though. Never was good posting photos anyway.

Re: What is this !

RWS, there are no wires or elect plug in. Is it possible this was a wireless hookup? Just joined up to Photo Bucket to night, will be away for a few days, but will possibly be able to post a photo later this week. Thanks.

What is this !

Hi Guys, anyone have some idea of what I found down in my aft bilges. I spent the weekend up at the boat, generally cleaning and exploring all the systems. Down in the aft bilge, about 6" fwd of the shower sump pump, almost dead center of the keel is this object, about 1 3/4" dia by approx...
