Re: Slow speed wander

Hi Guys, I was back to my boat for a few days this past week. I did go and recheck a few things that were mentioned above. First off, I checked the alignment of the rudders with a straight edge and a large square. Both the rudder quadrant arms are toed in between 1 1/2' to 1 3/4" so this is alm...

Re: Slow speed wander

Hi Mikeandanne, seems to be the same coming or going. Only thing different is with a following sea, and like all semi planing hulls it take a lot of wheel work to hold a straight course if you cant get up to speed. That I can live with. As I said in my reply above, I will be going back out the chann...

Re: Slow speed wander

Thanks for your replies guys. It's possible that Rikalan has a solution with the tabs, that one is down further than the other when in the fully up position. I will try and play with light taps on each tab next time out to see if things improve. Capt I believe the engines are in synch, I do have a d...

Slow speed wander

Hi guys. I have a 36' Tricabin, 1974, 280hp Chryslers. It's a great boat in all regards except one. We have to travel a few miles up a narrow channel to get out to open water. It's speed restricted and we usually travel along at 1600/1700 rpm which gives us a 7.kt cruise speed. At this speed it's li...

Re: 36' Tricabin Aft head

Hi blair, interested to read your reply. My 36 is a 1974, and the mirror does not open. It seems to be fastened to a teak plywood panel underneath the glass (pretty hefty pc of glass mirror too) by four mirror clips. Right now its just a dead area, & seems to me that it would be a pretty good st...

Re: Fuel Tank Senders again

Hi Dog House, my senders that I removed were the original 0 - 90 ohms that Trojan apparently installed. I did not know this when I was trying to do an ohms test, and just presumed that all tank senders were the 33 - 240 ohm type. You are the first guy that's told me the 90 ohm ones were standard. :o...

Fuel Tank Senders again

Hi Guys. I guess many of you have seen my previous posting asking about fuel tank senders. Well I finally bit the bullet and in stalled two new senders in my 74 Tri Cabin. I ordered Moeller senders along with new gauges from West. I had previously prepared the floor over each tank by cutting out a 1...

Re: Re WaxingHull ?

Hi Guys, I was away on a weeks vacation and am now back in the real world again. Thanks for your replies on this topic. Just thought I would throw this into the mix. Re the baby powder fix. We did buy a can of it and tried it on all the plywood seams that were noisy. It did work to a degree & cu...

Re: Re WaxingHull ?

Hi Guys, I neglected to say when I posted my query that when I bought my boat last fall, it had been polished and waxed by some company for the previous owner. Who or how I dont know. The hull and cabin have a nice semi gloss shine on them and I want to try and keep it up. So I just need to wax, no ...

Re WaxingHull ?

Hey guys, any thoughts on waxing a hull ? Can anyone recommend a good wax. How about Starbrite, or Meguiars waxes , or ? Hard to pick one out with so many gosh darn waxes on the market, and they all make claim to being the best. Also, while I am on here, who has squeaky floors in their boat ? My Tri...
