Re: Air Cond. location
Paul, I put a big West Marine unit in my tricabin last year and I do not think it weighed more than 50 lbs. Weight is probably not the issue but space is and access to a sea cock is a must. The discharge flexible duct work is 10" in diameter including the insulation and you should give thought ...

Re: Tricabin windshield
Sounds great. I think I will do like you and do the 3 lower panes first, but I will try using 1/4 round rubber or mahogany bedded in the Life Seal or even a layer of Sikaflex to cut down on the quantity of caulking material. However it will have to wait until spring as I am scheduled for shrink wrap...

Re: Tricabin windshield
Thanks aaron for the expertise. I was thinking of cutting out the moulding flush with the glass and then putting new 1/4 round rubber moulding embedded in some good black sealer. What would you think of that, as it would save removing the glass and it would seal it and it should look good. Actually ...

Tricabin windshield
Can anyone in Trojan land give me a source for the rubber moulding around the windshield windows and the two plastic windows on the sides. Mine is a 73 Tricabin but I believe they are all the same. The old rubber has shrunk and I would also like to replace the plastic sides next spring so I am doing...

Re: got my first trojan 36 tri cabin (1975)have a few questi
Welcome Paul. I have a 1973 Tricabin and just love it. Changing the oil is easy with a dip stick pump. You can get the Pella one from any marine outlet or NAPA auto parts have them as well. About $100 and well worth the money. You can also use it to change oil in your transmission and v drives. By t...

Re: Tri-cabin salon and aft cabin wall panel coverings
I have a 73 tri cabin and I have tried to remove that wallpaper in the forward head. I gave up and covered it with wood panel. I do not know what glue they used as it is permanent without using gallons of varsol or stripper so I decided to leave the rest of mine original. This probably does not help...

Re: My first Trojan
I have one of those Jutson syncs. However the bracket is missing. I do not know if it works as it came off a 1972 30' fly bridge express that the guy was scraping and he sold me the instruments as they were better than the ones on my 36 tori cabin. If you want it it is yours.
Let me know.

Re: Query to Aaron re v-drives
I actually recover most of the antifreeze in the spring as I have pet cocks on all of my drains. I also start the engines on the blocks and use a hose to flush and I catch the residual in a pail. This allows me to reuse it 2 or 3 years or until it gets too weak then I dispose of it at a friends gara...

Re: Query to Aaron re v-drives
By the way if you have the 383's I winterized them the same way . Drain all water and with the engine ruining pump 2 gallon jugs of straight Prestone through each engine. I have had my old girl for 11 years and never a problem.

Re: Query to Aaron re v-drives
I have a 1973 tri cabin. I do not believe the v drives are pumped, so all I do for winter is take off either hose from the drive or through hull and pour about a quart of 100 % antifreeze through and that has done for the past 11 years here in Ottawa. The onan I drain both heads first, you will find...
