Re: Anti siphon valve
heres something to look at, maybe the fuel tank vents are plugged, as you state the engine will run for half a hour then starve for fuel, it could be creating a vacuum in the tank after a period of time and eventually creating more suction than the fuel pump fuel pump can draw, insects like to make ...

Re: Flybridge Walls rebuild
here's a thought to get an acceptable finished look. replace all the roted wood with marine ply and give it a coat of fiberglass resin, to seal the wood, and then cover it with vinyl as they did with cars years ago, I seen an old Chris last summer and that's how the salon roof was covered and it loo...

Re: Gas struts for engine lids
I would try looking at some automotive door struts, they should have a load rating/stroke printed on them, all you would have to do is figure out your stroke from closed to opened and find a minimum/maximum size you can work with, and you wouldn't have to get a 40+ pound strut I would go with a load...

Re: Props

Re: Props
well I was up at the boat this weekend and had a look at the engines and I have the rotation arrows pointing to the center of the boat, and it is the original set up to the best of my knowledge, that being said the right hand prop will go on the starboard side, and left on port. thanks for the advic...

I have a stupid question as I didn't pay attention when I removed them. what is confusing me are the engines, I have a tri-cabin ...

Re: How would I bring the F36 exterior back to like new?
heres a little advice, I meet a fellow boater this summer who buffed and polished boats for a living, he described to me that on boats that haven't been done in many years they would use kitchen scour pads and a bucket of water to remove stains and oxidation which is the white powder you see, then c...

Re: Port Engine Power Loss
just popped into my head, here's an add-on to my previous post, get a good pair of booster cables and connect the two engines together, did this myself this summer when one of my generators failed, and go for a run and see what happens, or heres a quick one start the engine and pull the battery cabl...

Re: Port Engine Power Loss
here is something to look at, check your charging system if the generator or voltage regulator is mal-functioning the engine will start to lose power after 20 minutes or so running only on battery power, and start to sputter for not having enough juice to drive the coil pack I have had this happen i...

Re: Mid cabin inverter install
hi this is just my 2 cents of what I have learned about battery power and draws you should never draw your deep cycle batteries down past 60-70% of full capacity and charge them often to train them (first 150 charges or so)and you should get 800-1000 or more re charges with little fade on the perfor...

Re: got my first trojan 36 tri cabin (1975)have a few questi
Hi Rick/Warren I highly advise taking the trent/severn trip you will love it, yes there are quite a few locks back to back but that is only in 3 or 4 areas, in the man made canals where the rises are only 8 feet or so,but there are lots of areas where the locks are 3 or more hours apart when your ju...
