Re: New Tricabin Owner

Okay, I see now. That's a high bed. So to check the oil (to pull the dip stick upwards) you'll lift the frame. Understand now. I was looking at it wrong.

Any pics of the helm seating? Any changes up there?

Re: New Tricabin Owner

By the way, Hunter you mentioned the fact that you have aft engines but from the rear stateroom photo it doesn't appear so to me. Did you mean your engines were located amidship?

Re: New Tricabin Owner

Hunter, Congrats on the new boat. Very few boats will ride like these do. Good Luck And yes, you can definitely walk anywhere you want to on that roof. Kids go to the side and leap off. The fibreglass on the roof is extremely thick. (I know) BTW,.... the fibreglass on your boat is not cored. Pure, r...

Re: New Tricabin Owner

'74 Tri rear sole leak area.JPG The sheer volume of water that pours down each side and streams over onto the sole decking will pool up and flood directly into the starboard corner you are looking at in this photo (ditto for the port side). Fibreglassing the floor and/or replacing the back wall wil...

Re: 1973 Tri Cabin - Chrysler 280 issues - overheating - white smoke

On my 1974 tricabin that I owned for 16 years, the rapid overheating, burning rubber and smoke (from the water-starved exhaust outlet) derived from an impeller that disintegrated. If impellers for both engines were installed simultaneously (the usual method) then they are both ready to fail at appro...

Re: 89 mid cabin reimagined

Thanks for the update. You guys have done a fantastic job on what were really a one-of-a-kind boats. "Captain Jack's" lucky you guys came along and your Dad's "Captain's Hat" should be on a hook somewhere near the control panel

Re: 390 vent leak

How's life, Prowler? I'm getting sick of the white stuff. We've had a lot of it lately. Looking forward to spring as I bet you are.

Re: 390 vent leak

Finally got to my storage unit and retrieved my owners manual As I had mentioned, the Waste Tank Vent is located on the port side in the bow just beneath the rub rail by a couple of inches. However, there are three openings close together amidship, on the port side: - they are (beginning closest to ...

Re: 390 vent leak

Thanks for the added info, Prowler. Well on these Carver-built Trojans, my identical boat has a single black water vent that emerges through the hull at the extreme bow end on the port side. Spiders got in there two summers ago and blocked it. This incurred an odour. My manual is not here at the mom...

Re: 390 vent leak

Is that vent at the very front of the bow in a hard to see spot if you're lying on the deck???

Re: 10.8M Windlass Suggestions

Hi Ron, I own a 1994 Trojan 370 Express, one of those orphan Carver-assembled Trojan's after Carver bought the remains of the Trojan bankruptcy. My boat has a Maxwell VWC windlass that works well. I'm replying essentially because of the similarity in our hull shapes. I dealt with the American office...
