Re: 10 Meter Combing Boards
Re doing those boards with new upholstery is a pretty easy do it yourself project. I re did in all white upholstery with the same pattern of three cushions running across. The kids always seemed to get their feet and hands in between the three causing them to pull away. I recently redid with one fu...

Re: 10 Meter Upgraded Swim Platform
At some point I want to make a walk out to a new larger fiberglass platform, more like a boat extension :) Kinda like this http://www.jacktarsuperyachtcharter.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/08/120m-Tony-Castro-concept.jpg Dutch is very comfy looking in that shot :) Ahh that's brilliant. I'll go to the...

10 Meter Combing Boards
Team Trojan - As a few of you know, I am in the final stages of purchasing (pending survey in the spring) a 10 meter. I searched around about the combing boards, but i havent seen anything like this on any one else's boat. The previous owner has taped the seam of the combing boards. I tried to look ...

Re: 1987 10 meter mid cabin complete restoration.
I'm in the final stages of purchasing an 89 10 meter mid cabin and I can't stop staring at your boat. You did an amazing job and I can only hope that my boat will look like that some day. It's in great shape, so a total overhaul is out of the question right now. Kudos to you on a job well done Todd!

10 Meter Upgraded Swim Platform
Team Trojan - I've got an offer pending on an '89 10 meter mid cabin and I am wondering about swim platform upgrades. My current F-27 is a real pain in the arse to climb over to get on the platform. It's especially difficult with my best bud, Dutch. He's a 50 lb hound mix that could jump over the si...

Re: I think I found my next boat (10 meter)
Thanks for the perspective guys. I think I could live without a genset, but would probably want to install an inverter at some point. A/C is also something I would be willing to add. They were using a portable A/C unit when at the dock, which I'm not a fan of.

I think I found my next boat (10 meter)
Well, the F27 has been great, but i wanted something larger and found a local 10 meter for $19k. The boat is in excellent shape but has a couple of things I'm concerned with that are merely cosmetic. First, teal canvas. For some reason, that color makes my skin crawl! Second, the boat is the mid cab...

Re: Prop Help: F27 Mercruiser 305
Well thanks to MattSC, the boat is now running a 14x10 cupped prop. She runs waaaaaaay better. At 3100 she is doing just about 20MPH. Max seems to be between 24-26 but I can still only get to 3900 RPM. I'm beginning to think there may be an issue with my tach. Thanks again for all the help. I couldn...

Re: Prop Help: F27 Mercruiser 305
My F26 with a FB ran about 16-18 mph depending on load @ 3100 rpm's This was a 233 mercruiser ( 351 block) 1977 model year. I know I had one cyl that was about 5% behind the the other 7, and I had 4500 hrs on the boat when I sold it. This hull is REALLY sensitive to loading and I ended up with Tab ...

Re: Prop Help: F27 Mercruiser 305
Thank you for all the info. Looks like i need to read a little about props...i have no clue what I'm talking about. From the sounds of it, I have two options: 1. re work the prop I have 2. Buy a new prop...or a used one. I saw "Prop Shop" in a few other threads. Is there a reliable one tha...

Re: Prop Help: F27 Mercruiser 305
The 305 is a 230 hp motor... I believe the WOT range for that engine is 3800 - 4200, so it seems you are propped correctly. What is the horsepower rating for the engine? If the engine is only making 200 hp like many 305s of that era, I think the problem may be that the engine is undersized for the b...

Prop Help: F27 Mercruiser 305
Hello firends, Now that i've replaced the carb, it's time to move on to a new project. I think it's time for a new prop. I'm concerned that I don't have the correct prop on the boat and its in rough shape (i think). Can anyone offer advice? From what the old search function has told me, I need a 14 ...

Something about the geometry of that boat just doesn't sit well with me. Might b better without a flybridge, but still. I hate the stubby Aft deck. I need room for activities!
