Danny, Over the years a great deal has been discussed about the F Series bilge water and "that smell" The International series has a liner in the bilges. The liner has a couple of factory drain holes located at the center line. The rear bilge pump and switch are mounted on top of the liner...

I repowered a 1983 10 meter express cruiser. There are several driveline differences between this model and the mid cabin. The mid cabin's engines are placed further aft The shafts are shorter. There is only 1 strut per shaft The shorter shafts result in a smaller shaft running angle, bringing the c...

When I did my repower, I decided to have my fuel tank inspected. We found a spot of corrosion on the outside where the back corner of the tank was sitting in bilge water over time. Decided to relocate the aft bilge pump and switch and had a new tank fabricated. A special epoxy coating was applied to...

She's a 10 Meter International running 454's before the repower to diesel Here's the performance graph with the gas engines after some fine tuning of the distributors, removing the exhaust diverters, tuning the props and adding bigger trim tabs. http://i215.photobucket.com/albums/cc114/rws1983/RWS_G...

In Southwest Florida there are still places where you can buy a home on the water for a reasonable cost.

Try Charlotte County of Cape Coral for your best values.

It's a buyers market now.

Good luck with the refit.

Don't forget to plumb in a fresh water flushing system and crash valve.

Looking forward to your photos.

No bidders, ZERO ! Tony, did you ever resolve the ongoing engine problem you had with the rebuilt 454's last spring ? The pictures I saw of your F series makes it is one of, no it's the finest F series that I've ever seen. Surely she's worth the investment. Assuming you sold your old engines/transmi...

Tony, are you really the dreamer that your posts make you out to be? $15k for those engines would change your vessel dramatically. Like you said, they even have the correct gears and would fit right in. You've been looking at, and talking about used diesel engines for quite some time on this site. N...

Tony has been talking about it and dreaming about it for a long, long time. I suppose the real issue in doing a rebuild or repower is HAVING to do it vs. WANTING to do it. My 454's were tired, the timing chain on one was really loose as evidenced by the timing light. All of the engine mounts were BA...

If weight is not a problem you should go for it.

Your vessel will be worth that much more.

Rebuilding an already marinized engine might be a better choice.

Don't forget to check all hoses, coolers and heat exchangers while you are in there.
