Re: 89 mid cabin performance

It's all about weight think about the options: generator microwave 2nd anchor chain rode all that furniture/wetbar/icemaker in the cockpit spares tools and any other options not listed equates to a whole lotta weight They likely tested these boats with one skinny guy and a coast guard kit ! Re: Ac/heater question

The fiberglass filler panel above the aft gunnel indicate this is not an express.
It's a mid cabin.

Perhaps Bob Dunne will chime in here.

Re: Ac/heater question

the rw water pump is a MARCH and is located in the engine room. forward. The seacock for the HVAC is also forward in the engine room, to starboard, just forward of the stbd engine seacock. Simply follow the lines. Test for 120 volts AC at the pump when the AC is turned on - BEFORE THE UNIT GOES INTO...

Re: F-32 Diesel Repower

suggest you first determine the most efficient planing speed for your hull with a diesel - not easily determined. On my 10 meter the most efficient on plane speed with her 454 gas burners after prop tuning and other improvements was approx 15 knots. This was verified with a floscan digital tach/sync...

Re: How heavy is a 10 meter mid cabin ?

Just looked at my post from TEN YEARS AGO - WOW ! I had forgotten about that info. Mikes boat, the former RUNNING WITH SCISSORS is in fact an EXPRESS, not a mid cabin I would suspect the additional weight of the conventional stringers on the mid cabin alone would make the express (Mike's new boat) a...

The 2 Happiest Days. . . . .

They say the happiest 2 days in a boat owners life...... Well, that didn't apply yesterday when I ran her to the Marina for transport. Ah....... Those smooth, quiet, vibration-free Yanmar diesels..... She was such a sweet combination of power, ride, handling, reliability, safety, and efficiency. Way...

Re: Garmin AP install on mid cabin or Hynautic in general?

I did a Raymarine install in 2003 with the 3 line Hynautic system

All the hydraulics were local from the pump to the actuator.

Switched to a two line Teleflex system in 2006, all the AP stuff stayed intact.

Dont know how this would apply to the Garmin

BEST !

Re: 10.8M Windlass Suggestions

THANKS for the compliments !

One of the advantages of the GOOD windlass is there is NO NEED to go forward and clip off/on the safety lanyard.

It's a positive locking mechanism.

I LOVE that feature.
