Check out blueseas.com for ACR and a bunch of other electrical stuff. They have good tech help on line and via phone and a lot of diagrams you can download. I installed the ACR in 2008 for our NYS Canal Trip (4 weeks) and it did not let me down, and has been fine since.

Yup. What Prowlerfish said. Been there, done that a coupla-three times in my early days......Installed an auto charging relay which combines the house and engine batteries automatically and disconnects them automatically to isolate the engine battery. Now I don't touch the battery switch......EVER. ...

I THINK you can just change the regulator if the alternator is ok, since it's external to the alt. I have a Chrysler 318 in mine, but I'm on alternator no. 3 or 4 because I was a total d___a_s about the battery switch while underway and fried the diodes. Have learned since then. I do know that I hav...

Cetol is the winner. Used the light one time and the last time I used the natural, which does not have an orange tint to it. Sand it down, cetol it and just relax for a couple-three years. I have touched mine up in the last 4 years without any need to redo the whole thing. I mixed in some anti-skid ...

Deck Core Thickness on F26

I think the deck core on the F26 is 1/2 inch, but would appreciate any of you who have an F26 and have done deck core replacement to let me know if this is correct before I order the core material. I measured before but just wanna feel all warm and cozy. Thanks!

I've got an F26 but the switches are in the same location and I think function the same. You already know about the water pump switch and I'd replace it if it's getting cranky and old (like the rest of us). The there is for the shower sump, which should be located right behind the bulkhead if you re...

Thanks for the advice, Big D. I'm going up to the boat (still in the barn) this weekend and will try that approach, if possible. Could also track down the ships ground wire and run a lead off it, if I can get at it.

I have the original price sheet for our 77 F26 and the genny was not an option. I use a Honda EU2000 which I put on the swim platform or on the hardtop when we're at anchor. It powers everything we use and since it plugs into the shorepower 30 amp socket (I bought at adapter) it also powers the batt...

I'm installing the ProMariner ProNautic 1230P charger (30 amp). Seems to have the right amount of bells and whistles to make me think all the work I'm going through (EVERYTHING on the F26 is in an out-of-the-way place) will be worth it. Just wanna make sure I don't randomly fry something that I shou...

Stop me before I electrocute myself. Looking for neg ground

10 years ago I installed a house bank on the F26 using 2 group 29s wired in parallel, and a 20 amp battery charger direct wired to the AC and to the house bank and the engine battery for the single 318 on the F-26. The engine battery negative is wired to the common ground that's pretty much impossib...

Welome aboard to another F26 owner! Great boat. We bought ours in 1999 after 25 years of sailboats and we'll never ever go back to wind, no matter how much gas costs! Lots of great advice on this forum.

If you're making screens for the cabin windows I'd make a template out of cardboard and then have a screen maker cut the frames out of black aluminum (or paint them black). The same maker can insert the screening or you can pick up fiberglass screening and splines at any hardware/home center. I have...
