Re: 6000 miles in a 35 year old Trojan – Is it possible?

I agree with Prowlerfish, this a very enjoyable thread; and inspirational. My wife and first learned of the Great Loop several years ago. We talked about it for a bit but I didn't think our F36 would have the range with gassers that we needed for a certain stretch (on the Mississippi I believe). May...

Re: Windows F32 Clean View

Thanks for the offer, Ken. I'll probably wait until I'm closer to tackling the project, or at least at the boat before I call.

This is a great forum; always learn something.

Thanks again.

Re: Windows F32 Clean View

Looks good! I want to tint my windows and get rid of the chrome. I had planned on trying to paint them black as I want a cleaner look as well. I may have to give this a try.

Was it hard to remove chrome? Would it be reusable if things go south?

Thank you.

EVA foam flooring

I thought this may be of interest to some. I put this in last evening (friction fit for now). Easy to work with and happy with how it looks, especially compared to the '88 shag on the right.

Any thoughts on the wood in the pic? I was thinking mohogany but maybe teak?

Thanks.

We took her out!

We got the courage to take our boat out after our "sea trial" 6 weeks ago. We got a copy of the owners manual from Beacon Marine which really helped us know what we were dealing with (well worth the money and great customer service). We did about 50 miles on Friday and 60 on Sunday. We ran...

Re: New guy...questions

Well, we splashed her yesterday and it was a a combination of so many emotions. The mechanic said she only needed a new battery, generator exhaust hose, and the horn didn't work. He went through things with us and explained more than we could comprehend. We backed it off the trailer and it turns out...

Re: New guy...questions

Thanks, Jimmy and Prowlerfish; good info. It is a gasser. I believe it was properly winterized and Stabil added. The PO owned an implement dealership in the Bakken oil fields so I'm guessing he was at least somewhat mechanically inclined and I was told, quite well off, so money wasn't an issue. We t...

New guy...questions

Greetings all, great site. My wife and I recently bought an '88 F36, and really don't know a lot about what we got ourselves into. By all accounts the boat was well kept by the previous owner, and it appears, the person he bought it from. It has pretty much any receipt for anything done to it, fresh...
