Re: 36ft Trogan tricabin new owner

Hi, I have the same model boat, I think. The connection on the transom might be the outside shower connection. My boat has a water inlet thru-hull in the middle of the aft bedroom near the back, and a pump to feed an outside shower. I do not have a pressurized water inlet. I have to fill the tanks, ...

Re: Bilge Pumps 1976 Tri Cabin 36F

Just had a thought.
When I bought my boat, I checked out all the above water thru hulls,
and tried to match them up with stuff. It takes a while, but at least you will know where to look.

Re: Bilge Pumps 1976 Tri Cabin 36F

I have a 76 trifly.
Twin engines in the aft cabin with a dresser between them.
That dresser slides out of the way, I have 2 auto bilge pumps there. Also the pump for the trim tabs.

Re: Tri cabin hardtop, 1975 36ft

I will check that, but was more concerned with the transom itself

Re: Tri cabin hardtop, 1975 36ft

Does anyone know how much dinghy weight a lift on the transom will support?
I would like to get a 11 foot Rendova, or something with a center console, but I think it would be over 400 pounds with the motor.
I don't have a better pic than the one in the first post, sorry

Re: Tri cabin hardtop, 1975 36ft

They took it about 100 miles when it was purchased, and said the gauges barely moved. I am planning on putting a maretron fuel monitor on. It is back from the boat yard, but I am out of town for a month, so have to wait to take it out. I had them replace 1 head with a new electric going into a holdi...

Re: Tri cabin hardtop, 1975 36ft

There were 4 for the old engines, and 4 for the old heads. I am getting all of them filled. Changing out to fresh water flush.
I am leaving 2 that were for the generator. The old 1 crapped out, so they are just capped off.

Re: Tri cabin hardtop, 1975 36ft

There are 11 thru hulls, with 7 capped off. 2 for the aft toilet need to be replaced. There is a holding tank already for the front head, so I will probably convert the aft as well. The marina is recommending that the capped off ones get removed, and re fiberglassed over. Is that something that shou...

Re: Tri cabin hardtop, 1975 36ft

4LH-DTE I had a yanmar's dealer check them out. I am at 2300 hours, he said probably 2500 left. I am getting them serviced, heat exchanger, exhaust , and all the other stuff he thinks needs to be done. The previous owner said that they never ran faster than 8 knots, as the temp would start going up....

Yes,
I would love a list of leak points, thanks

If you need any info on that model, I might know something about the inside structure and possible leaks and rot.

Welcome!

Tri cabin hardtop, 1975 36ft

For those wondering what it looks like, pretty awesome.
Just bought the boat, twin yanmar's.
Will be doing some work, it has some pretty bad leaks on the fly bridge and windows.
