I would not try to clean that tank out myself-under ANY circumstances. I would suggest drainging it and removing it and have it professionally pressure tested, cleaned and coated. Call some radiator shops in the area in the area and see if they do it or can recommend someone who does. Once it's out ...

I believe they coated it with a single component urethane coating-that's what they told me, I was a little skeptical at first but they've been doing it a long time-successfully. I would have thought some type of epoxy-I wasn't sure that urethane could take full emersion.

gonna agree with ernie here-I pulled my tank, took it to a radiator shop-they pressure tested, found it okay, cleaned and coated it-was about $125.

I trailer my F26-in the spring to get it to Lake Erie-and again in the fall to get it from the lake to the limestone mines where I store it. I cant imagine loading a boat that size off and on a trailer week after week to take it to and from a ramp. Might have tried it back in my '20s, but not in my ...

Thanks Randy-I probably won't go back to an ac\dc unit-just AC. I don't spend enough time away from shore power to really worry about it-or justify the cost difference.

Well my Memorial Day weekend was a little frustrating. I didn't put the boat in last year-had to paint the house. So I stored it on a trailer at a self storage facility last summer (and then in limestone mines this past winter). When I pulled it out of the mines last month I noticed some bugs-they l...

On a recent trip to a Home Depot rental center (located in most stores) I noticed that they rent a fogging machine for the treatement of mold. I did not spend much time looking at it, but it appeared to be a machine that you set up, turn on and block off the room (alot like setting off "flea bo...

"Albatross III" It was the boat's name when I bought it 5 or 6 years ago and I didn't change it-I'm superstitious especially when it comes to the water. So I left the name the same-I'm not messin' with Neptune. [/b][/i]

TC-I sure hope the boat doesn't get in the way of knocking back a few ryes. (I haven't heard anyone mention rye since Don McClean in American Pie-but last week the Pittsburgh Tribune Reiview had an article about the emerging market for it, and then you mention it in a post-if one were to try a rye-w...

Don't do it-you'll regret it. My wife and I had our daughter out on Lake Wylie when she was 5 months old (in a 16' starcraft). Take a year off, do some work on the boat, arouind the house etc and boat next year. Unless your wife really has a problem keeping the boat I'd keep it. Its not a good time ...

Ross-haven't been out yet. Just puilled the boat out of the limestone mine where I store it for the winter. I'm starting to really get the itch-I didn't put her in the water last year-spent the summer working on the house. I installed the batteries yeasterday hooked up the garden hose and wanted to ...
