Re: Icy thoughts

The Snowpocalypse made it all the way to NC this year too - causing us to pine for our covered slip at home. Tanks indeed, she handled the ice pretty well. Good thing since our winter port is somewhat lacking amenities like ice-eaters. You must pass by me on your way south and north . My boat is in...

Re: Posting Photos for the Forum

imgur.com works well enough for sharing photos to the forum, easy to upload and get shareable links. Google Photos allows this too if you want more features.

Re: Depth and 360 degree imaging below surface F36 tricabin

Are you planning to pull boat out of the water to install a new transducer? If so then I would recommend a thru-hull mount transducer forward of your mid-ship line. Lots of choices for hardware depending on what kind of GPS/MFD unit you have or want. If the boat has to stay in the water your options...

Re: New F32 Owner tips on Vberth and Screen Door

How did you know "Ramona Rose" was our old boat? You must have seen her for sale? I have a home 50 miles south and use the Duluth Clist. We quit fishing Superior 25 years ago when the fishing went to hell, and moved to Lake Michigan. So now I drive 300+ miles to the boat, instead of 50. G...

Re: New member - 1978 F32

Initially my plan was to install a bilge pump mid-ship but there's not currently a thru-hull anywhere nearby to plumb it to. That meant a long run and fairly significant rise which would have a negative impact on the pumps throughput. Therefore I went with a backup pump all the way aft. In my head a...

Re: New member - 1978 F32

It is amazing just how much a PO who is well intentioned, yet non-boat systems smart can cause so many future headaches. Looks like you are making things right, which will enable you to enjoy the boat for many years, with less repeat problems the longer you own her. Nice score on the NSS Evo 2. Bet...

Re: New member - 1978 F32

This is turning in to a little bit of a rebuilt/refit log. Might as well write it all down somewhere. First order of business after getting the wiring to a point I can live with it is to fix the bilge pump situation. Problem number one is this little box in the aft bilge. If you have one of these I ...

Re: New member - 1978 F32

Good news - the problem with the switch panel is fixed. Turned out to be a simple ground wire. I'll post photos later but it was on the distribution panel to starboard of the lower helm. More good news is I have the original manual which includes the wiring diagrams. For once that puts me ahead of p...

Re: New member - 1978 F32

Next step is to find out what the hell is going on with the toggle switch system as it isn't wired to primary power in a way that makes sense. What issue and questions are you having ? And with what exact switches ? None of the toggle switches that are mounted above the lower console have any power...

Re: New member - 1978 F32

I spent a few days last week working on the primary 12VDC systems. Still plenty to do but it's a start, at least she runs and charges correctly from the alternators and shore power. I don't want to mark or tie any wires done until I get close to a "final" system and that includes adding a ...
