Re: Ignition wires to battery charger?
Horhay1946, What did you do with the ignition wires after changing out the charger? I just installed the same pro smart. Boat will not turn over just get the alarms. I believe you are correct about ignition wires killing charger, I traced where they went in old charger and they went to a circuit boa...

Re: Ignition wires to battery charger?
Prowler,
I have the batteries wired from charger. Where to the ignition wires go now? There are no terminals for them on new charger.

Ignition wires to battery charger?
Installed a new smart charger this weekend, original finally crocked. While removing old noticed ignition wires to terminals for port and starboard, labeled wires and abandoned. When I flip the toggle switch at the helm alarm sounds but nothing happens when I press the start button. Should these wir...

Re: Starter Humming
Thanks all. I'm done for the season!!!!!!!!!! Ring gear moved .25" back. This sucks, season is already to short. Will remove and repair when boat is hauled for season next month. 4 K invested this year and only able to take off the dock 4 times and towed back once. Any body want to buy it LOL! ...

Re: Starter Humming
Thanks for the help. Will inspect today before I re-install the starter. There was a bunch of oil in the housing of starter bendix. Hope this was leaking over a long period of time to gather all that oil. Will try to inspect bell housing for oil gathering and if oil levels are good in motor and tran...

Re: Starter Humming
I am a little ignorant to the ring gear. Where is that in respect to the fly wheel? Starter is ready and will re-install on Thursday, when this horrific heat breaks.

Re: Barnacle Buster
I believe I only payed $60.00 for a gallon at West Marine. That was plenty to do 1 motor. I believe if you strain the used BB it can be re-used for the other motor. I have seen this but have not personally tried it.

Starter Humming
I have a 78 F 32 with Chrysler 360's. I think the port starter stayed out on flywheel and motor staled. Now just hums when I try to start. Any body know where I can pick up a rebuilt starter, I live in Massachusetts? Does the port motor counter rotate? Is it worth trying to have the original re-buil...

Re: Barnacle Buster
If you look on YouTube and put in barnacle buster there are a few to watch. That is where I started, and made system specific changes for my 360 Chrysler's.

Throttle cable between helms
When I throttle down to idle from the bridge the lower helm does not bottom out with the upper helm. Cable at carb. is adjusted. Any adjustment between helms?

Re: No Fuel Drawing From Tanks
Thanks all. Got it. Was simply the O rings on both separator canisters. Actually got a couple new O-rings off a friend at the marina. Here is a great tip, took them off new Fram oil filters. The O-rings that came with the new cartridges where slightly to large and I cut them when installing. The Fra...
