Re: Sherwood GB-7 Raw Water Pump

Sorry guys I guess I assumed everyone knew what a Sherwood GB-7 pump was. Its the pump on the side of the engine. It was dripping every few seconds while the engine was running. And it was coming from the holes on the pump casing. Basically dripping where it should if the seal is bad. Hope that help...

Sherwood GB-7 Raw Water Pump

One of my raw water pump was dripping at the end of last season and now it after an hour of operating the engine it is not dripping a drop? Has anyone had this happen before? Engine temps are normal and the same on both engines. There is even water flow from both exhausts?

Re: Refitting a 1976 F-32 Journal

Had a productive weekend. Finished the non skid on the cockpit deck and installed the recovered combing panels around the cockpit. Also checked out the trim tab pump and topped off the fluid and low and behold the lower helm switches are reversed. Is there an easy fix? Swap wires at the switches or ...

Re: Refitting a 1976 F-32 Journal

LOL, I like the idea P-Dogg. But my to do list is still at 42 items, really it is. But I'm making this a higher priority. Thanks, again you made me think about cruising around and not being able to see the bilge easily to know if there is a problem. This I'm sure gives one the piece of mind knowing ...

Re: Refitting a 1976 F-32 Journal

Good point P-Dogg very good point. Well hopefully it will hold for another few days. I'm getting her put in the water on Monday. To start the first season as a Trojan owner. So excited to get her floating again. I do need to run a hot wire to the forward bilge pump so I can have it operating on the ...

Re: Refitting a 1976 F-32 Journal

I appreciate the concern about the cinder blocks but my marina has taken excellent care of my boat so far. And I am a Builder/Contractor/Project Manager and you do point out an easy mistake anyone could make. Cinderblocks are only meant to stack in one direction. With that being said if someone stac...

Re: Refitting a 1976 F-32 Journal

OK I had a good window of weather finally so I got the first coat of gelcoat down on the cockpit deck and cleaned up the bottom and gave her another fresh coat. I think a soda blasting is in her future though. I'm hoping to get the nonskid down next weekend and reinstall the bridge ladder so I can d...

Re: Refitting a 1976 F-32 Journal

How are you going to finish the edges of the luan? That's where all the moisture is going to get absorbed. After using contact adhesive and wrapping the edge with the vinyl covering I'm confident they will last another 40 years

Re: Refitting a 1976 F-32 Journal

Just finished covering the cockpit combing panels. At least I think that's what they are called. Also I have the new sliding doors for the galley and head ready to install into the new tracks I put in last weekend. This week is bottom paint and gel coating the cockpit deck if the weather holds that ...
