Re: Spring Project 154: Carburetor Upgrade
Did the carb swap 5 years ago. Used sdparts.com for the eldelbrock 1409 carbs and fittings. They had a great selection of fittings for the elderbrock carbs. Worth a look. Make sure that the correct carb base gasket matches up with the bottom of the carb. Had a mechanic use the wrong gasket so the se...

Re: New to me Trojan 10 meter
Had a similar issue with my 81 F-32. When cruising at 1800 rpm there would be little puffs of steam from one engine. chased this problem for 2 years. new impeller, circulation pump, exhaust manifolds cleaned and checked No change. No temp increase or any other problems. Ended up being the front seal...

Re: WOT
Something we use to do was dribble water down the throat of the carb to steam out carbon with the engine at 2000 rpm. Dont let the engine stall out.
You could also try some combustion chamber cleaner and follow the instructions.

Re: fuel tank replacement
After inspecting the inside of the tanks there is lots of corrosion on the walls of the tank and on the bottom. Drained the tank and sucked out any krud off the bottom. The boat is 38 years old so planning for the future. Better to know what I might be into money wise.

fuel tank replacement
I will be replacing my fuel tanks on my 1981 F-32 this coming spring. Should the replacement tanks be certified as the original tanks are certified. As I live in ontario canada has anyone used a ontario supplier.

cetol application
Need advise on applying cetol light over cetol gloss. Refinishing the flybridge ladder steps. They were done with cetol light and then cetol gloss. There are some nicks that need to be addressed so can I sand the gloss and apply cetol light then reapply the cetol gloss.

Re: F32 patio glass removal
Had the engines out of my 81 F-32 twice. Didn't have to remove the side glass (door removed). Installed thru the door angled with the transmission attached. Put duct tape on the 2 edges of the door to prevent scratches. The dip stick was removed as it sticks out beside the exhaust manifold. The engi...

Re: fuel pick up tube
When you do launch there will be lots of items to check. How many hours are on each engine So other than rebuilding the carbs and replacing the fuel lines what else has been checked ? You also asked what is the correct electric fuel pumps for this boat. Iam sure others will chime in on using electri...

Re: fuel pick up tube
Lets look back to your past posts in 2018 about the carb problems.Seems like you still have the same problem. Start with a basic tune up and compression test. You haven't said anything about what other work has been done. On my 1981 F32 the fuel pickups had No screens just 8" of copper tube and...

Re: 83 36 foot tri cabin questions.
Have a survey done. Then make a decision. I think you have already figured out what the normal expenses will be for a boating season. Then you can budget for any repairs you want to do. No one has said RUN. When I had a survey done 21 years ago there were 3 pages of deficiency's after reading the sur...

Re: 83 36 foot tri cabin questions.
Sorry you feel that way. The intent was to make you aware of what the expenses will be. I don"t think anyone said DON"T buy it just be prepared to spend thousands of dollars just to get the boat in the water and running. You also said that a engine block had a repaired crack. That alone wi...
