Well found the source of our leak today. One previous owner apparently cut out a rotted part of the deck and the patch he made for it didn't fit very well. Basically any water that reached that point wound up in the cabin behind the panelling. I've put up a couple of tarps that probably won't do muc...

Well in the short time I had to work last night before it got too dark and cold I managed to get off most of the rub rail around the deck. I can see the (wet) edges of the plywood decking in some places and can get at the edges of the vinyl deck now.

I got concrete and final proof yesterday that I married the right girl. I had a few different boats up including the fire-boat and asked her to take a look at them.

The fire-boat is her favourite. When we finally have the money to go live-aboard, the shopping is going to be good.

Sorry guys, Having been through it once, I know what it takes and I'm not up for starting again. I think my next boat will have a tall pole sticking out of the deck to hang triangular pieces of cloth from. Somehow, I don't think that fuel prices are going to stay where they are very long. If OPEC d...

Don't know how much help I'd be financially and don't really have any leave time from work so I'd only be useful for crew and navigation if it were done on a weekend.

Where exactly is it? Wakefield, RI doesn't appear to be on the water.

Got to save it. Too many grand old boats are getting torn apart these days. I just missed the opportunity to save a wooden beauty yesterday. If only I'd had $1000

Has it got the brackets for the swim platform in good condition?

Not sure yet what I could give you for them.

May be some other bits I might like to get off you.

I think, and I could well be wrong, that the year my Trojan was built, the Sea Raiders had the option of solid teak planked decks or teak plywood covered in a stamped vinyl. Mine is the ply with vinyl covering all over.
