Well found the source of our leak today. One previous owner apparently cut out a rotted part of the deck and the patch he made for it didn't fit very well. Well in the short time I had to work last night before it got too dark and cold I managed to get off most of the rub rail around the deck. I can see the (wet) edges of the plywood decking in some places and can get at the edges of the vinyl deck now.

I got concrete and final proof yesterday that I married the right girl. I had a few different boats up including the fire-boat and asked her to take a look at them.

The fire-boat is her favourite. When we finally have the money to go live-aboard, the shopping is going to be good.

I think, and I could well be wrong, that the year my Trojan was built, the Sea Raiders had the option of solid teak planked decks or teak plywood covered in a stamped vinyl. Mine is the ply with vinyl covering all over.
