Re: F26 Trojan HT 1978 Vs F26 HT 1980

Thanks for your feedback! Turns out the 1980 had been sold awhile ago and the listing was no longer valid even though it appeared that way. So today I agreed to purchase the 1978 F26 Hardtop!! I am so excited to be joining the Trojan boat owner fraternity! She's only had 4 owners since her launch a...

How are they tied-up? See how your would-be neighbors have solved the problem.

Re: fuel pick up tube

If Psfish has direct experience on your model of boat, ill defer, but as an engineer, id never install a filter in an inaccessible location. There are no filters on the pickup tubes in my '85 tricabin. As part of the joys of parenting and family boating, my son helped me winterize two years ago. Sho...

Re: Safety Railing/lines

I have an '85. "Railing" was tubing on the top for front and back third, with that white cable everywhere else. I put hard pipe on the top from stem to stern, and replaced the vintage cable with fresh. Ill update more when im not 5 hrs from my wake-up time, and when i have a proper keyboard. Hint: t...

Welcome.

You can get factory manuals from Beacon. Highly recommended. Also recommended is nigel calder's "boatowners mechanical and electrical handbook"

Re: Refitting a 1976 F-32 Journal

It actually can work either way. My research has the largest battery out there at about a 7" x 14" footprint and the box is 14.5" x 30" inside. So I'll see how the wiring flows in and out to determine the best layout. I currently only have three batteries, two being start batteries. But want to upg...

Re: Dinghy tug....

Ok, more seriously..... You're doing this when you retire, right? I wouldn't bother. It's a lot of trouble for something that might not happen, and it's a PIA. Just use ur boat as it was intended. If something happens, you'll have the time to wait out a repair. Bring a dinghy to go entertain yoursel...

Re: Moving the engine seacocks

If you want to bond them, make one of the attaching screws a machine screw that penetrates into the bilge. Apply ring terminal there.

I do not believe mine are bonded. I boat in nearly fresh water. If i can remember ill report back after sprung haul out.

Re: Updating Electrical System on 1976 F32

As long as I can power my coffee machine in the am, a small TV and my refrigerator I am a happy camper! On two AGM batteries that are what, 200 A-hrs each at a 20 hr rate? I think that you're going to be an unhappy camper if you plan on running these things on battery power alone. May I recommend t...
