Re: Trojan vs Trojan

Didn't switch, but did look at both series. Space, layout, and 'feel' were big things when the wife and I were looking. Decided we were less of a fan for the 'euro' styling of the Internationals, the curved lines and everything being rounded in the interior, the use of lots of colour, etc... and jus...

Re: leak

YAY !!! I (might have) got one right! But all joking aside, where water comes in and where you see it can be very different places! Water has a nasty habit of following the least resistant path downwards, but also taking advantage of any 'wicking' action upwards before it goes down! I have noticed t...

Re: What’s wrong with this picture?

Hmmmm.. my tabs are mounted on the hull bottom, with hinge tight to and parallel with transom. Maybe it was a model year thing? Added Bennett tabs to my father's 1969 28' Sea Skiff, and do recall cutting and shaping shims for the transom curve to mount the tabs, but need someone to explain how / why...

Re: What’s wrong with this picture?

The Trim tabs . And prop nuts on wrong . Sorry - missing something here. What's wrong with the tab? Admittedly it seems to be installed a bit further aft than it should be (hinge should be right at the transom) but otherwise not seeing anything wrong, unless I am missing something due to picture qu...

Re: leak

Possibly getting entry through a loose or unsealed rub rail fastener and running down inside of the hullside until it reaches the framing / paneling for the berth?

Re: F32 Hull Thickness

This is a shot of the transom. By my estimate 3/8" given the key is 1/16". IMG_4335.JPG Not sure what he was cutting out, but this is the location that sample was taken from (low on the transom, center line, near where most F32 swim platforms would have been). Note, she was NOT a 'Luck Lad...

F32 Hull Thickness

As promised, here are a few shots I took of an F32 being savaged (not salvaged... but savaged...) .... Based on the Trojan graphics and vents, it was probably a late 70s / early 80s vintage.. like my '79. Didn't check the hull number. After the fact I wish I had gone back to the boat to grab a tape ...

I believe last time I replaced inline filters I used Chrysler 4142597-1. I got them through MarinePartsource.com, and later ordered spares through Beacon...

Re: F32 patio glass removal

Abandoned by owner. Sold off by marina owner for non-payment of storage fees. Parted out by opportunistic person who took sawz-all to hull to pull engines, fuel tanks, water tank rudders, props and struts, bridge console, railings, navigation lights, etc... Literally, he used a sawz-all to cut aroun...

There's also this approach to pulling an engine..... but I can't say I recommend it!

Re: WOT

Definitely not an expert, but think the 318 /340 / 360 are all 'short block' engines https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chrysler_LA_engine while the 383 and above are 'long block' https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chrysler_B_engine

Re: WOT

I have 360s instead of 318s, so don't know how similar a speed curve you will see. Posting this anyways just in case it helps. This is what I get - speeds are averages at that RPM over the past 20 years I have owned the boat (yes, I keep a Log, call me old school). The + / - show the Max / Min speed...

Re: Refitting a 1976 F-32 Journal

Switches go bad over time with corrosion etc... even in fresh water environments. My blower switch (both helms) was flaky last year. Turn it on and the blower would work, but would intermittently cut out. Tapping on the switch would bring it back on.... Replaced both switches this spring and everyth...
