I found it! The hoses to the cooler were hooked up backwards. Changed them to match the other engine and everything is fine. The marine service that did the work on it obviously needs some schooling.

http://www.defender.com has several chargers to choose from as does West Marine and others. Defender and West Marine both have the "Prosport 20" produced by "Promariner" for $179. which is probably the best bang for the buck, but while you're looking know the difference between &...

I cleaned mine by hand, Dawn dish soap and a shop vac, what a chore, but well worth it. Just wondering though, if you pressure wash where does the slime go?

That solenoid should be a "continuous duty" solenoid. not the same as a automotive solenoid. Automotive solenoids are intended to work short durations only. Do a search for "solenoid battery crossover" and you'll see what I did with mine system. Like Prowlerfish said, you'll find...

Mine steering was the same way when I got it. To fix it I centered the rudders, disconnected the pushrod then centered the steering wheel and reconnected the pushrod and redrilled for the keeper pin. That gave me the same turning radius to port and starboard.

White smoke=water/coolant vaporizing in the cylinders?=head gasket/crack?, intake manifold gasket/crack?, water cooled exhaust manifold gasket/crack? process of elimination, Prowlerfish, what do you think?

You are correct rooferdave. When the GPS is set to "miles per hour" the speed is alot more impressive in conversation than when it's set to "knots per hour". I keep mine set at "knots" for my laptop navigation. At 28 knots WOT how fast am I going in mph?...32 mph, now t...

I also use a ziplock bag for the filter and an electric fuel pump with long skinny tube attached for pumping the "warm" engine oil out the dipstick tube. Works great and no mess.

Besides, no-one wants to borrow my scuba gear for painting the bottom. :P  :D Tell us about you new adventures with your 40 footer with die...

I bought mine without a broker or survey, a quick simple deal. Day 1, I looked the boat over and checked all the major components. Day 2, I gave him money and he gave me the title. I wouldn't recommend that to anyone else but Ive been boating and wrenching since New York was a corn field and knew wh...

P-Dogg, It's hard to keep your mouth shut after buying a new boat. I take off work quite often to go boating. :D
