Re: 89 mid cabin bilge leak
this is an old problem that still persists we still have a mystery but we have a bit more information I am reasonably confident that the water is not coming in from the engine compartment (or the stringers) we recently had a rain storm (if you can call it that, Southern California) before hand I tho...

Re: Prop nuts thick or thin first
thanks prowlersfish
I found that fascinating, although I doubt many others will.
Do you have any more info on what method is best for resisting vibration?
Lock nut, lock washer, any combination of the two, etc.?

Re: 89 mid cabin tachometer flutter
prowlersfish thanks for giving this some thought the engines hold steady and there are no battery switches I was at the boat yesterday and verified my original observations at the dock however when we went out past the breakwater we found both tachometers were fluctuating erratictally I am thinking ...

So a couple of months ago I changed the port engine distributor to a HEI from AAA marine. All went well runs perfectly. Did the same to the starboard engine last week. Engine runs perfectly. Problem is that the port engine tachometer now has a flutter when the starboard engine is running. (both engi...

Re: 1995 Trojan 350 Kohler 6.5CZ burning out TV's
I agree with prowlersfish, odd that it would speed up under load I’ve been working on my GenSet for some time now and I’ve been using a kilowatt monitor for checking voltage and hz (available on Amazon) Not sure but I think on your GenSet 60hz = 3600 rpm I would check the carburetor, fuel supply, et...

Re: engines balking at 3000 RPM
the anti syphon valves on my boat are located on the fuel tanks they look like ordinary fittings so you may not be able to immediately identify seems like a long shot at this point but I still would encourage you to check it out not that it would be the problem but I am assuming your crossover is of...

Re: engines balking at 3000 RPM
Welcome I have a 1989 mid cabin I know the previous owners and knew that it had been neglected for many years I would check the anti-syphon valves Odd that they would both be clogged to the same degree at the same time but worth looking at fuel crossover setting? I have had many problems but only on...
