Re: Interesting Trojan Story
I've been debating the direction of my vents for a while now and would like to get a final answer on the issue. It seems the overall consensus is to have the forward vent facing "backwards" to be more "open" and get more passive air into the vent. A captain friend of mine thinks ...

Re: Front cabin window seals?
On my F-26 the windows were plexiglass. I punched them out from the inside with a rubber hammer and cleaned off all the old silicon/caulking on the frame. (If the plexiglass is going to break while removing it, try to keep it to only two pieces that way you can put them together and still trace the ...

Re: F26 - Interior Restoration
Good stuff...assume you are relinquishing your need for the dinette table? Shower?.....Wow, looking forward to seeing this take shape! Yes, I have relinquished the need for the factory table. It really takes up a lot of room which is the opposite of what I'm looking to do. I enjoy standing at the g...

Re: F26 - Interior Restoration
-Custom floor design and installation. The F26 model comes factory with this fold down storage cubby. You can see it's small storage space with the tool bag pictured. http://i.imgur.com/IRYEMLL.jpg?1 This makes for a very narrow walkway where two people can not get around each other with ease and I ...

Re: F26 - Interior Restoration
Got the new wood up and hastily screwed in the rub rails before my flight back home for the holidays. When I get back I'll put the rest of the washers on and tighten everything up. Along with some more primer on the wood. Beware of the wood blocks that hold the hand rails in place if you plan on rep...

Will do Barrie! I just got caught up on your journal. The black bottom looks great! I made the same choice when I got mine done earlier this year. Makes it look so much better IMO.Barrie wrote:Looking good, keep the pictures coming!
I love to see all the different ways people do up their interiors.

Re: F26 - Interior Restoration
First line of business is to replace the wood that holds the side rub rails in place. I was surprised at how rotted and damp it was. With further investigation I found the culprit. http://i.imgur.com/fe6AW0D.jpg?1 Each piece of blue tape marks where a hole that the current rub rail does not match up...

Re: F26 - Interior Restoration
Today's work. A layer of Interlux PreKote Grey across the entire ceiling and the port side of the boat. Took 2 quarts to complete. West Marine doesn't have any more in stock so I ordered some more (they unfortunately don't carry the Grey color in a Gallon size  ) Should arrive in 2 days then I...

Windshield Wiper Motors
Hi everyone. I'm trying to take these windshield wiper motors out of the frame but can't figure out how to do it (1976 F26.) Thought I'd see if anyone here knew how to do it. After dismantling one of them. My next and only option I see is to take a sawmill to it. Any thoughts? http://i482.photobucke...

Non-Skid Top Paint
Hello all, still pushing along in the restoration. Will update journal soon. About to start on the top paint. I have the non-slip dimples on my F26.
Can I just prep and paint over these dimples and all will be good?
