.....No F-32 repowers have yet weighed in on th topic, but only posted today. I think thats because your asking about a very specific path- repower with new engines. I repowered my F-32 but chose to go used diesels instead of new gas. It was cheaper and better for me. You may have different goals s...

glad you are now getting revs but something is still wrong. 18 mph at 3500 rpm is still 50% slip - Way too high.

Not that you couldn't have an engine issue, but I think Paul is on the right track here. If all the information you provided is correct- and it's very important that it is, you have a boat problem- NOT an engine problem. Here's why- At 2600 RPM with 1.5 gears and 16x16 props- your "shaft speed&...

I agree with the others- Have you checked the running gear? What is your speed at 2600? Did you seatrial the boat before you bought it and how did it perform then? Did you load the boat up after?

You can ( block them) but it's not necessary. As far as aligment goes- it depends on how thorough you want to be. If you trust that the shafts are straight, your struts are aligned with the shaft logs and that your cutlass bearings are good- you can do rough aligment using the power plants and visua...

what your seeing is normal with the engine room end of the shaft not connected. The shaft is heavy and will naturally sag (gravity) making it "look" like it's not centered.

Welcome- fellow 1974 F-32 owner here. While I can't give you a definitive answer, I can tell you that inside the engine room, the measurement between the hull sides is about 103 inches. I can't remember if this was to the fiberglass hull sides or the vertical wood supports (my drawing was done in 20...

I went down to the marina this morning to prep for the storm. The overnight forecast took a turn for the worse and it placed the hurricane/tropical storm dividing line, dangerously close to my marina- in fact less than 10 miles. For the first time, I felt a little "doubt" about my decision...

Part of boating I guess but it's a crappy catch 22. If the media didn't sensationalize storms, people would't take precautions. If they keep sensationalizing storms, people will eventually stop reacting as well. I've been watching this track very closely in multiple places. For my area, Narragansett...

warranties are only as good as the fine print, and most never even read it- let alone understand it. IE- lets say you buy a reman long block from company A. you have company B dress and install the engine. The engine faills. Company B will blame company A's engin. Company A will balk until it it fee...

So true on the remans. This season alone I know of 2 friends that each installed new marine reman engines and BOTH failed within hours of the first use. One of them is still running on the second reman, the other had the second reman fail again. Good running take-outs (proven) can be a real bargain.

Agree with most answers but will add that you should really think about 2 things- 1)How you plan to use the boat. Are you going to keep it long or short term? Are you using it 5 months a year or all year? Mostly a dock/anchoring platform or lots of cruising on plane? Mostly short or long stints- ann...

Just make sure they are big enough to flow what your cooling system requires. The Granger valve does not appear to be full port (lists -"standard port"). I would make sure you get valves where the smallest apperture (usually the ball-hole) is at least as large as your engine manufacturer r...

Useable for sure although I'm not a fan.

If your diligent with maintenance (cleaning/grease/proper use), they work and last a long time. If you neglect them (as most do), they can be a pain when you need them most. I prefer newer (full port) teflon sealed ball valves.

I have a 1974 F-32. Check for soft forward deck near hatches and soft spots on the flybridge- also check the manual steering and rudder system.
