you asked for opinions so here goes. unless you absolutely love your boat, converting it to diesels by paying a professional mechanic to do it will make no financial sense. It would very likely be significantly cheaper and easier to sell it and buy a boat that has diesels already. If you're OK with ...

As an experienced painter- I'll add my .02c. First- Harbor Freight has some decent guns and some real junk. If you buy a gun through them- buy one of the knock-off's # 43430 or #66222. Both of these are HVLP and spray pretty well. Second- Ask yourself what the goal is for the job. Is it just to clea...

Guglielmo- I appreciate anyone looking to better understand the hows and why's of anything so let me give you my .02c. You are correct that if only the engine and gear have been changed, the shaft and strut locations should be fine with a few exceptions- 1) the shaft and flange must be in good shape...

I understood that doing the alignment in water was the preferred method as blocking often does not support the hull and gear in the same attitude as water. Am I incorrect in this view :?: Doing a full alignment in the water is fine, if you have a trained mechanic down in the bilge while underway. O...

Jeremy- there's a couple different velvet drive variants. With a 318, you most likely have a 71C. If that's the case, my understanding is that changing the pump can address using the gear with a different rotation engine. HOWEVER - it does get somewhat confusing from here. The consensus is that the ...
