Brian, Here is how I removed my windshield when I built my hardtop. You could adapt this approach to remove your hardtop. I started in the cabin using a knife to slit the headliner from one side of the boat to the other directly under the base of the windshield. There is a row of bronze bolts coming...

I just tried it again from a different computer, I entered a reply on the thread about the oil dipstick pump, first time I hit preview, and got the same error. I hit back on my browser and hit preveiw again, and it displayed, so I hit submit, and it worked. Strange...

Warm it up before you try to pump out the oil. It thins out alot making it easy to pump. Also look for a pump with a stiff tube for the dipstick. The soft curly ones croll up from the bottom of the pan and only let you get out the top quart of oil.

This is weird, I can reply to this post, but when I try to reply to:
Newbie Question- Oil Change on F25 318 Chrysler - or some other posts, I still get the error mentioned previously. Anyone else?

July 4 is anyone else having forum permission problems?

I'm getting php errors replying to several posts on this forum on July 4 around noon EDT. I was able to reply to one thread ('69 25 foot hardtop express rebuild begins...), but when I tried to reply to several others (with a text only reply), I'm getting the following: Forbidden You don't have permi...

FWC and raw water cooled both use a raw water pump to draw cooling water into the boat. The difference is the FWC system has a heat exchanger filled with antifreeze that forms a closed loop. The raw water pump pushes water from the lake or ocean through the heat exchanger to cool the antifreeze. The...

K9th, To get a real answer, you should add info about what kind of engine you have, fresh water cooled (FWC) or raw water cooled (which is much more common in fresh water boats). Here are some sample exhaust gaskets from a Chrysler 318. http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2455/3680190458_4131b30a2e_o.jpg...

Here is some inspiration for you. This is a rebuilt F-25 in the water at my yacht club. I'll try to take a few more photos for you over the weekend. http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2568/3677337468_466d83b87c.jpg I don't know what year she is. I think this one is an I/O. The name of this boat is appro...

My advice is to look around for something in running condition. Even doing most everything yourself, you can easily put $5K into each engine, and it doesn't take long to ring up $20K as you find more things that need fixing. That's money that you shouldn't ever expect to get back. With gas prices ti...

Today I made arrangements to have the boat hauled either Tuesday afternoon or Wednesday. Rather than trying to squeeze the fix into a short haul, I'm going on blocks in the yard over the weekend, so I can replace the bearing at my leisure. It's a bit more expensive than the short haul, but I don't h...

Adam,

Try using the smaller size for your avatar. Having it so big makes it harder to read. People have to scroll horizontally when the avatar is so big.

to avoid receiving more email spam, I would advise not putting your email address in your signature. You can put it in your profile. That won't give 100% protection, but is much better than having it on every post you make.

Adam, From the flickr photo page, click "all sizes" for your avatar, the small size is best: try this url: http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2447/3670147903_35914daf22_m.jpg to fit your pic within a post without horizontal scrolling, use medium, 500x click Img in the menu above, past in the u...
