Find more issues..lol. the mcck exhaust manifold is split..almost finished first round of cleaning interior..Monday ill start the tear down. im a mechanical guy..not so much with the carpentry/fiberglass etc.but it has to be done...a carpentry friend is like "np problem we will just rip all this out and replace it..couple hundred in materials" im thinking..ya right lol..thanks for the offer to help ill need it ..wish you succes...

thanks for the reply. i need to get some pics going..the more i look at the boat the more it needs lol...but she is a beauty. the onan looked like years ago the exhaust manifold split.the engines are 275hp fresh water cooled and were winterized and covered. i havent tried to run them yet.. ..ill try...

as usaul i end up with the boats that are too much work for others..lol well i just got a 73 tricabin and love the layout... i have water coming in buckets above the aft beds, the back wall is rotted and the aft teck deck and helm teak deck has been unsealed and is squishy. also an ac was installedo...

in my opinion potable water for the ocean or raw water for lake/river water....i think that salt water and waste/waste chemicals make for a stinky tank...i cant remember but they have a special check valve so the potable water doesnt get contaminated

it all depends on time and money......if it was me id do the conversion ....i would assume the hardest part will be getting power to it...not the mechanics of it...but it all depends on how your old one wants to come apart..either route u take

id check whatever doesnt cost money first....like carb openingthottle plate and choke opened...spark arrestor...timing/advance....check gauge by borrowing someones timing light that has rpms on it....is the bottom clean? ....

before u get into the props i would fix the trim tabs...ps by having the trims tabs down after planing off pushes the bow into the water and she starts to 'plow'.....please note that i dont kno ur boat but that is usually a characteristic of full trim down......by having her plowing creates a load.....
