Tricabin Galley reno

I have included a couple of photos of my Tricabin galley renovation. I changed the stock L-shape arrangement into a straight line by swinging the fridge ninety degrees, into that hard to reach space just to the right of the sink. This change has created extra room in the salon for my two easy chairs...

I renovated my Tri Cabin galley last summer. I'd post a couple of photos of it for perusal, if I could figure out how indeed to do it. Please advise.

My tri cabin hull is not delta-conic??????...... say it ain't so, Joe. Well, at least this will make for a good story. When I bought my Trojan back in '98 the original manuals were included along with it. In the middle of one of the manuals was an article explaining how the delta conic hull configur...

Hi Dave, Just checked out your photos. Your recently purchased model of the Tricabin was called the Tri Fly. It has the forward bridge position up top, which made for a really large cockpit area. I believe that they were also a little more expensive than the regular Tricabin and I think that air con...

Hi Dave, Congrats on your recent purchase. Our old Trojans were very well crafted. Hopefully you'll be able to get yours seaworthy soon (meaning in less than double the time you have predicted :D ) I own a '74 Tricabin. Things to Check Out: 1. There are two drain plug s. One in the rear at the lowes...

Hi Guys, All 3 of us have the same gasoline tank arrangement. I apologize for the confusion I caused when I stated in an earlier post that I had installed two 25 gallon tanks "inboard" of the gasoline tanks. In reality the new 25 gal fresh water and black water tanks are directly forward o...

Hi Bob, Wish I could tell you it was easy. :) The salon floor was tough for me. You've got to dismantle the stock setee and yank up the carpet (and of course there's no room to store what you yank up.) I filled the V bunk area with flooring, wallboard etc. My boat was in the water for the whole proc...

I removed both fuel tanks from my '74 tri-cabin three years ago. I had pin hole leaks. I had to pull up virtually then entire salon sub-floor. Some of it I sawed into smaller sections. You are correct, the empty tanks may be man handled, carefully out through the back door. I subsequently had the in...

I had that old "water shield" or gasket or whatever on mine too, Bob. I didn't replace it when I refinished my hatch because my hatch is never open to the elements.

Is it an "old wives tale" to soak the replacement bearing in chopped ice for 3 or 4 hours before tapping it back into the strut??? ..... this process I would assume shrinks the new bearing (brass) however slightly, thus enabling an easier refit. True or false?
