Re: power windlass for trojan F36
I can't believe that he is not on the forum right this second, but I'm sure that what Aaron means is that when anchored, attach the rode to a cleat between the anchor roller and the windlass. That way, you have both the cleat and the windlass to act as redundant holding points.

I missed the fine print the first time around. The supporting documents are under "related downloads" on the PHMSA website link below: http://www.phmsa.dot.gov/portal/site/PHMSA/menuitem.ebdc7a8a7e39f2e55cf2031050248a0c/?vgnextoid=7c7384ae997be310VgnVCM100000d2c97898RCRD&vgnextchannel=...

Re: FYI Lite propane cylinder recall
Because I learned about it through uncleared documents that I received at my work, I can't say too much. I went to the public sites and posted from there, since it was was all public domain. I am unaware (from any source) of catastrophic failures. The issue is leaky tanks. I'll see what the lawyers ...

FYI Lite propane cylinder recall
If anyone is using Lite-brand fiberglass propane cylinders on your boat because they are rust-free, because they are see-through so you can keep an eye on their contents, because they look sleek and stylish, or because I recommended them to you, you need to remove them from service. http://www.litec...

Re: where to start? Fuel gauges not working
American senders are about 230 ohms at low and 30 ohms at high (full). Disconnect the wires from the sender and measure the resistance. Make sure that you have a good ground as stated above. If you think that your tank is full, you should get near 30 ohms. Reconnect the wires, then disconnect the wi...

Re: power windlass for trojan F36
I second the Good windlass (really, it came in second. I would have bought if I hadn't bought the Maxwell). I didn't buy that brand because they can't take chain -- only rope. But I do like the built-in bollard. Remember that the windlass shouldn't take the strain of the rode when you are on the hoo...

I used lemon pledge on my aircraft windshield for 17 years, give or take. An interesting comparison to Plexus can be found here:

Re: power windlass for trojan F36
I have a horizontal Vetus Maxwell RC-8 on my tricab. I bought it in part because the case is o-ring sealed. Some Lewmars have no seal. I run 9/16" line and 5/16" chain. I would not recommend smaller on a 36' boat. As for length of your rode, it depends on where you anchor. Make sure that y...

I've never known boaters to turn down free beer. Could it have been that no non-Parkside Marina Trojan forum members attended because, gulp, they might have had to look at teal dock lines on a burgundy boat?????beer will be provided

Re: WEBASTO AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM
I have a 1985 non-fly tri. It came from the factory with two 12K BTU reverse cycle air conditioners, so I would say the calculator got it right. In general, it is better to have an air conditioner that is too small than one that is too big. Much of the benefit of air conditioners is derived from deh...

Remember that city pumps more RAW sewage in the bay in one day than all the boats on the bay do/or could all season and it does it with a waiver from the EPA !
Would you please cite your source? That's worth complaining about.

I fixed the link. A great looking boat! Just moved mine to within sight of Aaron's tricab. He'll be jealous every time he walks by. What year is she? Where is she kept? etc... Please do share.
