Re: 2006 Raymarine C Series Deviation
Is your GPS and auto pilot interfaced? If not, don't mess with it. All three headings are coming from different sources. I use my auto pilot only to go in a straight line after I get her on the course I want. With set, drift, current, wind, ect... you will be hard pressed to get all three to read th...

Re: I am so screwed!
We got over 23" of rain here. The Trojan floated just fine. Our back yard and sea wall didn't fair well. Will need complete rebuild. The neighbors Grady White 280 sailfish sunk bow first. Motors were up out of water. He got a wet cabin and water in fuel tanks. Told him to buy a trojan

My 1995 350 express with 454xl's will do 20kts at 3400 rpm and burn 22GPH (Garmin GFS 10) That is my cruising speed with full tanks and clean clean clean bottom. WOT is 4200 RPM.

Re: Shorepower indicator lights - Int'l
to get the original neon ones go to Newark.com. It is a Arcolectric # H8630FBNAE neon indicator , green. It will say 250 volts, but works fine with 110 volts. While I was looking for the original neon ones, I went to West Marine and got two green LED indicator lites. I drilled a small hole in the ba...

Re: What Did You Get For Christmas?
My employees gave me a Garmin 4kw radar. Great gift and really wanted/needed. Here is the problem. I was going to get a radar when I was ready to tackle a big project. On the Trojan 350 express, the radar arch is not flat, it has a curve fwd to aft in it. A store bought radar mount will not work. I ...

Re: Propspeed mid cabin
We have applied prop speed to a few of our customers boats with different results. The charter boat fleet likes it, but they use their boats on a daily basis. For our week-end boaters, it is a different story. We have seen that a diver on a regular scheldule is required. Here in the Florida panhandl...

Re: boat towing insurance?
Landlocked mentioned waiting for a good samaritan. You gotta be careful. Most, if not all, pleasure boats are not rigged for towing and most boat owners (captains) don't have a clue how to tow. It is a lot different than taking the kids sking. Cleats, towing bridle and hawser must be heavy duty. Wha...

Re: boat towing insurance?
We have both towing services here in North West Florida. (TowBoatU/S and SeaTow) Both are great companies. I used to be a tow captain for TowBoatU/S so that is who I have. I have been towed in three times. (not the Trojan) The jet boat. For the yearly cost of unlimited towing, if you own a boat you ...

Re: Who has been using their Trojan?
We have used the Trojan a lot so far this year. Last week-end four days at the island, two weeks ago a long week-end downtown for the gallery night. In fact, I have poured almost 900 gallons of gas into her since Jan 1st.

Re: bow railings
This is a job that I know will have to be done. The problem is how to get to all of the bolts and backing plates. The way my head liner and cabinets is installed, I don't see it happining. NOW, however, does anyone know if Trojan (Carver) used threaded backing plates, and no nuts??

Re: Furuno to Garmin?
Being a marine electronics installer, I know what you are saying about Furuno being hard to use. But it is the best radar. I have the Garmin GPS/depth on my boat and love it. We just installed a Lowrance Gen II with radar, side scan, GPS on a 42 Cruisers. The owner loves it, and I must say, I think i...

Jut seen on the weather channel that the storm is now coming our way. (Pensacola) I have hauled the boat but the canvas is still on. I just hate the idea of removing it. I have a helm cover that I will leave on. Will wait until this afternoon to decide. Storm surge is still fresh in our minds (IVAN)
