Re: Heavy Oxidization

Very difficult to answer without more information. Wet sanding gelcoat is the next thing to re-painting. Worst case situation. Many procedures come before this move. The condition of the gelcoat has to be determined. I recommend an inspection by a qualified professional polisher. The amount of gelco...

Re: 2 engines, better chances of not getting stranded?!

Bad batteries, bad fuel in both tanks, (ethanol phase separation, water, etc.), poor wiring and or connections, corrosion, bad ignition system components (no tune-ups for years),.... Agreed,..proper and diligent maintenance is a must,..not often practiced. Many boat owners have the attitude "i...

Re: walter v drives with 454's

Hey Mike, I have Walter V-drives in "Seabuscuit" and they do not clunk as you describe. With the grease you speak of It may be the CV joints are worn out and this is the clunk noise you hear. The owner may have pumped grease into them in hopes of quieting them down. (would also explain the...

Re: spark plugs used in a 440 CID

Thank you for your replies. Mike, the carbs were professionally rebuilt, less than 20 hours on them. They were swapped from my 400's I replaced last fall. My research says the RJ14YC application is for 2 BBL carbs and the 12's for the 4 BBL (can't imagine 2BBL on a big block 440) Anyway, I pulled J6...

spark plugs used in a 440 CID

What are you 440 owners using for spark plugs. My research points to champion RJ14YC. Thoughts??

Re: Our 1987 Trojan F36 Tri-Cabin - Before and After

I had my 25' Cruiser Inc in Port Stanley on lake Erie at the Lions Landing Marina last year. They can't handle anything larger then 25' so I will have the Trojan at Killins' across the river. You? We are out of Lefroy Harbour in Simcoe. Great place to be. Jeff, Ryan, Linda,..all good people.

Re: Tri-cabin windshield bolt question

Well firstly I am new to this board and new to Trojan boats. I picked up a 79 tricabin for a live aboard in Lake Ontario. After a few hair pulling experiences I finally have the boat in the water and am aboard and loving it. to move the boat they had to remove the windshield and did a less then pro...

Re: back in Belleville

Not at this time Big D. I repowered Seabiscuit last fall with a pair of low hour 440's so I am finishing up some wood work on the aft bulkhead. I am also restoring a 1965 Chris Craft Sea Skiff. I have it in a rented shop here and I would like to finish it over the next 2 months. It is an 80% restora...

Re: back in Belleville

Hey Captain, it was called Morch Marine a while back and now Crates. There were owners between them. I was the Harbour Supervisor at Meyers in 2009 and 2010. We may have met. Let me know if you are coming our way. Have a great boating season! 8) Jimbo

Mike, Land Tug hauled it up 5 years ago so he brought her back. I will e-mail you.

Rickalan, you are right on. Thousand Is. Rideau, Gananaque, etc are great cruising grounds. Maybe see you on the water.

Re: Blisters

How soon after the boat was hauled out 4 years ago did the surveyor see the boat? I heard and seen instances of minor blisters shrinking a day or so after haul out. Depending on the boat, some surveyors will want to be present during haul out to inspect the hull right away before it dries out. I ag...
