Re: ? Raw Water Cooling in the Salt ?

I ran a Chris Craft 251 Catalina Express in the Chesapeake (brackish creek off the bay -- salinity varied). The Sen-dure tank on my '79 system began to leak, and I took it to a radiator shop for repair. Fix consisted of pressure testing, soldering, retesting. System seemed to function well. If you p...

Re: Water pressure

I have two push/pull electrical switches in the head -- left one for the fresh water system and the right one for the shower bilge pump. The water system (faucets in the galley and the head -- incl shower) operate on demand -- with electrical switch on, pump activates when faucet is turned on, shuts...

fuse/wiring diagram 1980 F26

Looking for a wiring diagram for some work I want to do on the fuse panels. Could have sworn there was info. here somewhere, but think maybe it was a victim of the Photobucket nonsense. If anybody can direct me or provide something, thanks in advance. Can picture it in my mind, and think I must have...

Re: F-24

Matt Hooper's boat(?) (suppose Jaws boat could have been a Pacemaker.)

Believe I saw one (a Trojan) about 10 years ago visiting Cooperstown, NY (Otsego L.). Wish I had found the owner and bought it, or at least kept in touch. (My wife considers that stalking, and to be frowned on....)

Re: ? Raw Water Cooling in the Salt ?

add that an adjustable inboard flusher is available. Think of a toilet plunger with a hose fitting.

If you have ground level storage, one of these flushers might be all you need. Not as elegant as the plumbed- in style, but effective and convenient.

Re: Beautiful Spring Day in February

Shoot. Two months yet here in NY (70 degrees yesterday, 30 today....)

What prop are you running? Also -- really like your canvas. Would be curious about cost, as that's something I may be into this year.

(Sorry -- nosey questions. Looking at doing some improvements here.)

Regards.

Re: F-32 Deadrise for through-hull transducer

went through transducer issues this spring on my F26. The location of my existing thru hull transducer is pretty much directly under the steering station — which would be just aft of the bulkhead. It’s an old Hummingbird flush mount thru hull and worked OK in that location. I bought a Hummingbir...

Re: 11Meter bilges

Yup. never looked for or noticed the limber hole, so likely the issue on mine. Wary about water in the eng compartment because I once buggered up a starter (Chris Craft) mounted low enough to catch some bilge water -- think it was the flywheel passing some water into the Bendix. Also concerned with ...

Sad. Know you are old when....

so I'm watching "Niagara" in high def. Marilyn Monroe. And all I'm zeroed in on is the make of Joseph Cotton's boat and the chase boat. Chase boat might be a Trojan.

Sad. Just sad.

Re: New Member with questions after sea trial

+2 on the trim tabs. Big difference in operation. Easy to check and refill the reservoir (just ATF, as I recall). I had a slight leak in one of the connections, but was able to simply tighten it up.

Re: 11Meter bilges

Maybe different by '88 (or different in larger hulls), but my '80 F26 uses little rectangular sealed float switches. Assuming those are original, they seem to be pretty effective. Your forward pump might have a corrosion issue on the float switch loop. Still exploring movement of bilge water on mine...

Re: Torn between 2 Decisions - HELP!!!

impression from here? sounds like grandpa's boat isn't quite what you want, except that it was grandpa's. Arguably, if you do a complete rebuild and radical reconstruction, it ain't grandpa's boat anymore. Think I would be inclined to sell it.
