You're missing part of the rudder port casting... The plate does go directly up against the hull, but the rudder port is missing the three inch long part of it's casting that fits down thru the hull and thru the hole in the plate. You need a new rudder port. Hamilton Marine is one source and you can...

The lowest point in the bilge of all semi-displacement (a.k.a. semi-vee) hulls is foward in the forefoot where the 'vee' is at it's deepest. This also happens to be where the cabin sole is stepped down in many designs, a trick used to make the most of the available headroom. Don't let the water get ...

I think what some don't realize is that Trojan built two completely different F-25 designs, and two completely different F-26 designs. 1. The early F-26 ('71-'72) looks like no other Trojan with it's long foredeck and set back superstructure. Quite honestly, there are certain similarities to Reinell...

I removed the fridge in my F-26. It will just squeeze thru the cabin door after you remove the fridge door.

Wow! And I thought I had a project! Judging from the teak helm and white galley cabinets, I'm pretty sure you have a 1972 model. I just bought the same boat; in horrible condition from the windshield back, but mostly all there. It'll be interesting to see future photos of the progress you make! Mayb...

No the instrument panel.

I think I speak for everyone and would rather see his wife than his instruments
Okay, I'll be the one: Isn't anyone going to ask about his wife's instruments? Sorry, couldn't stop myself :P

Another example: My 1972 Tri-Cabin's hull number is 4402763. The '440' is the model designation and the '2' represents the model year... in this case 1972. The last set of numbers confuses me because I can't believe Trojan had produced 763 Tri-Cabins (Sea Raiders & 'F-boats') in the first three ...

This has been listed before... It's gorgeous, but it's powered by a single 289 Ford Interceptor... too bad. 28' is pretty big for a single small block to manuever around the marina on a breezy day.

One more Cetol endorsement! I used Cetol Marine on all the exterior teak except the cockpit sole. I applied three coats four years ago to the cabin bulkhead, helm, cockpit trim, and swim platform. Everything under the hardtop still looks like new. Anything not protected by the hardtop showed signs o...

There's also a GEN2 Tri-cabin for sale out there right now being marketed by an American broker as a Trojan/Shepherd. I believe the GEN1 Tri-Cabins were indeed built in a former Shepherd facility, but it's hardly accurate to call the boat a Shepherd, especially a GEN2 boat which I believe was made i...

Trojan literature for 1977 and 1979 says the F-26 weighs 'approximately' 5450 lbs dry (Gasoline weighs very close to 6 pounds per gallon).

I owned a '78 F-25 HT with a Chrysler 225, and 14X10 cupped wheel. The boat topped out at 4K rpm indicated to achieve 28 mph GPS (half tanks).

Onboard LPG tanks must be kept in a separate enclosure (locker). Access is gained through a gasket equipped lid, as no leaking LPG can be allowed into the boat. Also, the locker's overboard venting must be located at the locker's lowest point, and when mounted below deck, exits the hull via a thru-h...

jwrape: I'm not sure if you already have a washdown pump or if you just wish you had one plumbed to the foredeck, but a washdown pump has got to be one of the most useful 'creature comforts' anyone can add to their boat! It was te first thing I added after buying my last two boats. I added a dedica...

Merc 233 powered '76 F-26 w/ the stock 14x10 wheel... WOT @ an indicated 3950 rpm. Cruises best @ 2600-2800 rpm, but will stay on plane @ 2400 rpm.

BTW, my Chrysler 318 powered '78 F-25 ran the same wheel.

Hope this helps....
