Re: Summer Cruising Plans
Hey Ken, To answer your question. We are on the Mohawk River which is the Erie Barge Canal between lock 6 and 7. So we would go thru "the flight" which is 6 locks and the federal lock in Troy, NY then we are home free. Total of 7. To get thru the flight it takes about a hour and a half.

Re: Goodbye points!
I agree 100% with Big D and Lean Wolf. Although my old distributors are not showing any signs of wear, (shaft) or frozen advance plate. My dwell reading was steady and advanced with throttle response. I like the "peace of mind" with the complete set-up. By no means do I like putting up 800...

Re: Goodbye points!
I ordered two Mallory electronic distributors, the YLM series (YLM554CV). Since one is standard rotation and one is counter-rotation, I needed to buy a counter-rotation gear for the bottom of one. The distributors are complete with cap and rotor. I also ordered the matching marine grade ignition coi...

Goodbye points!
I just ordered two new Mallory electronic distributors and coils. I thought that spending a little more on complete distributors was worth it, verses the conversion kits. Hopefully they will be reliable and maybe get a little more performance. Also planning on two new sets of Iridum plugs.

Re: Painting Bilge
Rickalan35, Thanks for your kind words. I am so pleased on the results so far. My little generator just went in last week and my new 18500 a/c and heat unit is next on the list. I have alot of pics to upload. When I work on her it's like therapy for me, and it gets me out of the house.

Re: Painting Bilge
+2 on the Bilgekote. Cleaned first with Lestoil degreaser. Sometimes hard to find it, only place around here is Lowes, in the cleaning isle. Warm water and Lestoil witth long handle brush. Took off 32 years of grease.

wrong rear main seal
I had a minor oil leak on the reverse rotation port engine. Turns out that there is a rear main seal for that application. Disconnected prop shaft, tranny, bell housing, flex plate, flywheel and riser elbows for exhaust. Raised up and rotated back to set rear of engine block on planking across the s...

Re: F 32 cockpit rails
I took mine off, I love the new look. The boat looks newer. I also added a cockpit table and use the gunwale as seating. I'll take some pics the next time on the boat.
