Re: 1985 EX 11 METER FUEL TANK ACCESS - FLOAT

Most often you can reach the sending unit from the from access plug towards the bow. Being it is a resistance device, it does not take much to keep the unit from sending. I could simply reach mine and un-plug the wire and plug it back in. Works great now. To replace, you need to remove the deck.

Re: Drive advice needed - Starboard Velvet Drive failed

I pulled mine out (3 hrs). Rebuilt it for around $300.00 with parts kit off EBay. But you need to be somewhat handy. Engine needs to be supported and re-alignment is critical after re-install. Weighs about 125 150 lbs I'd guess. I have a post on it here somewhere

Re: Lunaire AC Recharge

Good thought on the fins, they look fairly clean (Michigan boat) so air does not run a whole lot. Ill give them a once over.

Re: Lunaire AC Recharge

I did verify water flow. That was the first thing I checked, I also did an un-scientific hand test of the compressor, condenser and coils. Seems plenty of water flow as the coils were cool to the touch. And, plenty of water shooting out the port. Again, not complaining as it is nearly 30 years old a...

Re: Mid Cabin - windshield trim/glazing

I did exactly the same thing. Replaced all the old short pulled out window seals. I contacted Taylor made and asked how they welded the seams. They make and weld the seams BEFORE they install them (all cut to proper lengths prior) they simply use a heated (well pretty hot) steel blade and hold both ...

Lunaire AC Recharge

Has anyone re-charged their Lunaire AC unit? Ours still works, but the cold seems to not be as cold as it should. I have not done a temp in/ temp out test, but used my highly calibrated measuring devise, (Wife, and she says not cold enough). It is a 88 11 meter and only a single unit. After nearly 3...

Re: Backward battery now gauges dead?

Prowlerfish is correct. Don't buy an automotive alternator for the boat. Asking for trouble and danger. Always get MARINE certified parts for your engine or anything that goes in the engine room. Yep, They will coat more but it is for a reason.

Gauges etc, you can use automotive.

Re: Backward battery now gauges dead?

With (2) batteries wired with negative to positive and vise versa, quite possible you could gave had 24 volts push through your system. May explain the pegged meter. I would imagine you may have damaged more components as well. Lucky you did not have a fire (melted wires). Fuel gage works off resist...

Re: stuck in the boathouse

I was half serious on the 40 fat friends.. Lol There are 231 cubic inches in a gallon of water. Calculate how many inches of sinking you need. Boat length x boat width x inches of depth you need. That will give you total cubic inches. Divide that by 231 and that will give you gallons. Take gallons, ...

Re: 11m ex 671 removal

I have not pulled the motor, but did the drives. What is really nice, is you can first remove the helm seat, then remove the entire deck over the motor. Plenty of room to move, work, and see. You having a rebuild? You should be able to pull off the exhaust manifolds first, then the velvet drives. Th...
